We've got some kindof scam in Canada right now where they pretend to be "investigators" for the CRA (Canada version of IRS) and basically use all these bullchit scare tactics that are riddled with inconsistencies.
That and/or that it's "customs" and you're in big trouble about a package that...
All of a sudden Thrive is painfully slow............and I can't figure out why. No recent Windows updates, no changes to computer.
We're using it to print to 3 printers and send to 2 cutters and it's become painful to use, overnight.
Takes a full minute + to RIP/process any new file, and will...
Multiple passes with good UV ink or like jfiscus said, white vinyl w/ blockout or grey adhesive.
Or thermal (Edge) foils will block it out pretty good.
Solvent white won't put a dent in it, regardless of how many passes you lay down.
Agreed. I mean I've seen much worse prints than that but they should have offered to replace them nonetheless.
Sounds like you've got some good suggestions for alternate suppliers so maybe this will lead to a better vendor.
Looks like ink starvation. We print for other sign shops and my response would be 1) We'll reprint it right now 2) Can we see pictures so we know what happened and make sure it doesn't happen again
Personally if I get something from another company and have issues, I'll send pictures with...
Let us know how your testing goes - I'm going to reach out to our dealer to see if we can test some out.
(Still getting chitty rolls of 8518 here and yet price just keeps going up!)
Thanks. That's not a horrible price point when you consider the amount of volume you could run through that set up in a day.
I'm going to have to check out a Colorado in person one of these days, I've been holding back because I know I'll want to buy one as soon as I see it... :roflmao:
Weird. Still there if you reboot the machine? Is it stopping you from printing or just stays on screen?
At least you got your white channels firing, that's good. (We finally got our 1-6 channels back to 100%, but 7 is rough and 8 is iffy. We very rarely print white so that's probably why)
As already mentioned, what you're trying to achieve (printing paper sheets) isn't ideal or efficient on a Roland roll printer.
You could technically get rolls of solvent-receptive paper/synthetic paper and run them on a Roland, but it's not going to be great or efficient.
Assuming you can...
Thanks Scott, I'll look into this. 100" might be too wide for our flatbed but will do some investigating.
We were quoted a similar price for custom 97" x 49" (or whatever size we want) sheets, MOQ 160 sheets and comes on a nice sealed skid.
Our flatbed is super finicky when it comes to...
Thanks for the info, you make some really good points there. I've used Lusterboard in the past and hated every second of it - I don't know if any of our suppliers even sell it anymore. Would slice you up real good if you looked at it the wrong way and the aluminum ended up delaminating all...
