  1. Question No room for cut marks on most boards, Workaround suggestions?

We've been running into the same issue, and recently looked into oversized sheets of 4mm coroplast for this exact reason. Was actually pretty quick/easy/affordable to get pricing from our supplier for custom Coroplast brand sheets. MOQ wasn't bad either. As for other materials, do you have...
  2. Question Printing in Onyx and getting wrong colors

Yikes, that's a huge color shift. If you reprint the original file, does it print the same as your original samples? If so, I would suspect that something changed during the export process, or another profile/quickset was used. Different color replacement in Job Editor perhaps?
  3. Looking for a cheap laminator just to mount film on rigid board

Man those are cheap! Would love to see how well it mounts/how true the rollers are. We've mounted hundreds of small signs/plaques this week and running through big laminator isn't super efficient.
  4. Thoughts on exterior sign specs?

Good to know, thanks. I wish we could just have this painted but not really an option in this case. Thanks. I agree 1/2" on that size won't do much but I'm just trying to come close to the spec for a new project. Thanks. These schools are sometimes subject to abuse as they're in remote...
  5. Thoughts on exterior sign specs?

Thanks guys, appreciate the input. Any pointers on tapping acrylic? I'll get a price from Gemini but would also like to consider doing in house on our flatbed cutter/cnc. I'm assuming reverse cut the letters, but not sure about the tapping part. Pre-drill holes w/ cnc then holes have to...
  6. Thoughts on exterior sign specs?

We're supposed to be creating a couple of signs similar to the attached for our customer. What I'm thinking is use 6mm ACM as the substrate, digitally printed background (cast vinyl) and use 1/2" white acrylic w/ VHB for the letters, and some kind of acrylic sandwich for the logo. Am I crazy...
  7. A little office remodeling this past weekend....

How much did it cost to ship your fancy garden room from Scotland to Boston.........................?
  8. Question Digital marketing a sign shop with no money?

Do you have any books or resources you'd recommend for SEO for dummies? I don't think I'd ever pay a company to do this for us so I may as well learn about it.
  9. Looking for 'feet' for standing sign boards

I like that idea, I'll have to try that. :thumb:
  10. Used Roland machines, how much do they worth ? TrueVis VG2 54"

Wow, good on you for pulling that off! Although it is crazy that you have to jump through a specific set of hoops to get a machine that you own unlocked so you can service it yourself. I wonder if this would be the same for Canon/Oce printers.........they need a tech/service key to access all...
  11. Mimaki UCJV-300 Reviews

Like InkHead, we do both. We've done a fleet a box truck wraps and a food truck on Avery 1105 and laminated with 1360Z, worked well and installed really nicely due to not being saturated with solvent ink. We've done tons of wall wraps using 3M 40C + Avery DOL 2080 matte and they turned out...
  12. Listening culture

    I'm listening...................and I concur. Cool horse tho.
  13. Solvent Printable Vinyl Roll

    Baaaaazinga.
  14. Solvent Printable Vinyl Roll

Most digital media is available in 60" widths. Have you asked your regular suppliers?
  15. Mimaki UCJV-300 Reviews

No it hasn't actually, we're still having lots of nozzle dropout and they move all over the head. Cleaning seems to make it worse. I've run a bunch of air purges, nozzle clean, hard cleans etc etc. and am still having issues. Struggled to print 3 rolls on it last week but out of nowhere it...
  16. Sign Contractors Pricing Guide

You won't find any guide online that will magically come up with a price list for. Here is lots of good info to read up on........... https://www.signs101.com/threads/what-formula-do-you-use-to-quote-a-job.62708/
  17. Canon Colorado 1650 Trouble Printing Fabric

In that case, I agree. You would think it would be fairly consistent across the board unless you're buying huge volumes of it.
  18. Canon Colorado 1650 Trouble Printing Fabric

You think every shop prints the same files and coverage every day?
  19. F1612 weight limit?

I've had it slip doing cut/route only jobs a few times, it's a PITA because it has no idea where it's picking up on the next segment. I don't trust multi-segment cut only jobs anymore on this thing. I've gone as far as printing regmarks just so it would have something to read.
