The test print looks ok, and should be giving better results than that. What quality setting are you printing in though? The basic test print only uses the large nozzles, not the small ones that are used for high quality printing. You need to run a test print from service mode to get a true...
I mean recreating the logo from scratch as a vector ( not reproducing the whole font ). Ideally customers would have a good saved vector of their logo, but we all know this isn't often the case!
Obviously the customer is charged for this artwork setup :) But do people just turn down jobs if they...
I know we get lots of posts on here asking for a particular font, which can obviously save a lot of time, but curious about how many of us recreate fonts for logos?
I know we can use AI based scanning and conversion etc.. but these normally aren't very good with fonts.
I would have thought...
It really depends why they are missing. If they are dead, then its time for a new head. A 24 hour head soak may help so is worth trying at this point. Often once nozzles have got to the point where they are clogged enough to not fire, there isn't a great deal you can do
If it is draining straight away it is normally down to either the hose has come loose from either the cap top or the pump, or the hose has split. Check this first as its the most likely reason.
The head shouldn't have moved at all as there isn't really any way this could happen. Sometimes the ink can spread on the pad though, so it could be in the right place.
The main thing is to get back the missing yellow and black and see how the print is looking then.
When the head prints like that blue it's because it's not getting the correct signal telling it where to print and when to turn on and off. Normally this is down to either the head cables being faulty, or a bad print carriage board.
It can also be the encoder strip, but shouldnt be if you have...
Get the customer to find a photo of a pattern he likes online, then just recreate something similar yourself. It's really not hard to make camo artwork as its all basic shapes.
I agree that can happen occasionally, but probably every 1 person it works for there are 99 it won't. It is always worth trying if the head is blocked anyway as you have nothing to lose, but don't be surprised if it doesn't fix it :)
I think you may struggle a bit if selling them on. A fully working one will only go for about £2200 at the most ( despite what some people are asking for them on Ebay, but those ones never sell ! ). I think you said you paid about £350 for them? Even after adding a cheap head by the time you...
Just make sure the printer is off and fully discharged before doing any work on it ! Also order a pack of ten fuses as they cost next to nothing, and it's sods law if you only get a couple they will blow and you won't have any spares.
Hi Dean. Yes after that long the head and dampers will definitely need replacing. as will the ink hoses all the way back to the cartridges ( you may be able to flush the hoses ). Also unblock the needles that insert into the ink cartridges. You will probably also find that the pump may be...
There is nothing wrong with fixing one. A new one costs over £5700 in the UK, a head replacement if you can do it yourself would cost around £2000.
Yes you can get a used one cheap, but nearly all of these will need a new head anyway, so if you already have one it makes sense to repair it...
Before you buy that ask them how they clean the head before sending it. That test print could have been done days or weeks before they removed it from the printer, or may not even be from that head.
If it sits with solvent ink in it for a week its unlikely to work when it gets to you. Epson...
