  2. candy apple red

there is alot involved with that .... what profiles? what media? rendering intents? printer resolution (720x720)? in theory 100%magenta and 100%yellow should get you red, but if you don't have your system and profiles tuned and a calibrated monitor, you results can be very erratic. color is...

  4. WHERE DID MY BLACK GO PrismJetXtra

i changed out my capping station once and it took a while to ink back in the lines... i had to pull with a syringe on each of the lines going to the head then pull from the capping station.. took me a while and i learned alot about these things. make sure you have ink in the cartridges...
  5. Whats this on my Prints?

is there some ink on one of the grit rollers?
  6. fellers platinum packages

i think most are trying to make sure the OP understands what the he is getting into before spending 56k. some of the sales pitches by signwarehouse and fellers make it sound like if you buy this your good to go.. . and then people find out designing and installing a wrap is not that easy...
  7. My turn for logo bashing!

i was gonna say you would catch crap about the swoosh (i did when i posted one) personally with the right design and usage i think you can use any design element that exisist. that being said i hate the Rage script too. and i don't like the black shadow being cast upwards...
  8. some recent airbrushing

i think you could use black like you did but the art has to work with it. a couple of things i notice are too much overspray ( could be the createx?) the overspray gives a Tshirt airbrush look. and as already mentioned needs highlights to make the image not so flat. if you were to use the...

i have a mutoh falcon and sometimes get vertical banding.. i hear the valujet users have it sometimes too. i don't hear about rolands having vertical banding? do they have a better heater set up or something?

  11. Matte grey!?!?

grey is a tough color to print correctly... always has a slight cast on my set up. could be all me though. i think paint would be less expensive . but if you have to use vinyl go with a grey vinyl and matte lam .. skip the printing part. does any one make a gray air release cast vinyl?
  12. Contour Cutting TWICE??

yep i had the same problem before with wasatch... took me forever to figure it out. and yes any transparency..
  13. Contour Cutting TWICE??

are you using any effects like drop shadow? they will render as rasters.
  14. Contour Cutting TWICE??

are you exporting to wasatch as an EPS from illy? if you are saving the eps out from illy and the design has raster effects or any rasters (maybe only ones with transparency) then there is section in the eps export dialog box for transparency if it is grayed out then this is not the issue ...
  15. Cheap Vinyl

thats my experience too... but when we used their lam (i think or it was a really cheap one anyway) the prints faded rather quickly.
  16. Cheap Vinyl

for printing or cut vinyl... the general formulations (briteline, shinerite and other rebrands) is pretty cheap, don't know if they have a removable though.
  17. Photoshop help

lynda.com has a monthly subscription for about $25 per month... lots of good video tutorials. it is a great resource.
  18. where can i get this?

yeah its printed vinyl and lam, but for what he's using it for printed paper or thin plastic would work too, just needs it water proof.
  19. What is the best printer for our needs????

if you are only doing a few print jobs a month (1-2 a week = 4-8 a month) i would only outsource. i use my falcon 46 everyday and i think i may have been better off outsourcing to start off. think about it the profit on those jobs would hardly cover the maintenence of the print much less...

i've just started with a new roll of 3Mij35c (air release version) so far prints nice has the air release pattern of the CV3 version so no visible pattern. i'm using the same profile i was for oracal 3165ra and it looks the same so far. and at $75 dollars cheaper i think i'm switching
