i'm sure you could rip and print with flexi print se... not sure about the contour, but i thought you could. if you are already good witht the adobe products, then i would design with those and use the flexi to rip and print. i don't think you really need signlab? an expensive program when...
the red you can get in RGB is not achievable in CMYK so depending on how you rip is set to handle the out of gamut colors it can turn a bright RGB red into a orangish CMYK. if the fade is being rendered perceptual and you have designed in RGB... i see you listed the values for your red...
i run a mutoh falcon and i would say i could print 2 full rolls off one set ... they are not all full coverage. i know i have printed a 40 ft trailer wrap and several 4x8s along with lots of smaller things in a month and all of one set of inks.
it also is possible he is just trying to get the files and take them somewhere else that will work for cheap? if he has the files he doesn't need you . he could get anyone with the printing equipment to do the work.
wasatch was the best i used.. (between Onyx, flexi, wasatch) the color was great and was feature rich. i had one roland converted to CMYKOG and it drove it beautifully

this is true.. mcdonalds and outback and ruth chris steakhouse all sell hamburgers .. basicly the same.. but some get a lot more money. atmoshpere and presentation and service is the biggest difference.
