  1. Pantone Swatch Books - Which One?!

Thanks so much for everyone's help. Ordered the Color Bridge Coated swatch book today!!! :)
  2. would 3651 clear be ok for this job?

RT2 for the installation. NOT for laminating...No no no. Since you're viewing the graphic through the glue in this case, i'd say install wet.
  3. Pantone Swatch Books - Which One?!

Correct. I plan to use the PMS charts as a REFERENCE....starting with the PMS swatch, test print a few different ways and see if we can get it as close as possible. We never just hit print...but we are starting to get more requests for pantone colors and up to this point we've gotten lucky - I...
  4. Pantone Swatch Books - Which One?!

The bridge is the system....they have bridge coated, and bridge uncoated. Then the bridge set that has both.
  5. Pantone Swatch Books - Which One?!

OK I'm bringing this one back from the dead (sorry). We're finally making the leap this week as we knock goals off our list for 2014. We're convinced the Color Bridge Pantone books are the ones we need. Do you recommend picking up the set that has both coated and uncoated or saving the money...
  6. would 3651 clear be ok for this job?

Yes. Print reverse to clear 3651, lam with 651 white or 3165 white (i think 3165 might be cheaper...but you can't buy by the yard). If it were me, I'd still use clear 3651 even on a window that faces outside.
  7. Window graphics

I disagree. RapidTacII is a miracle product for wet installs in the cold. As long as you clean the window EXTREMELY good, TWICE, then install wet with RTII it'll stick every time. Make sure your temporary vinyl isn't a WATER-based adhesive....some vinyl can't be installed wet. It may be...
  8. What type of vinyl for wall quotes

We do a TON of installs to wall and use 651 all day long for this. I'd rather have too much tack than not enough. Not to sound ridiculous but i'd rather get a call saying it took some paint off than a call saying the stickers you put on our walls are falling off.
  9. 60.5 or over intermediate calendered vinyl

Save yourself the hassle and have someone UV print direct to substrate. my .02
  10. Replace Cut Carriage Cable due to Pinch Roller Error and 0.0 Media Width Reading

Definitely cut carriage cable. We do a lot of our own maintenance and tearing apart, but there's two things I won't mess with, changing heads and changing the cut carriage cable. It took our tech less than 1 hour to do it and the piece of mind is well worth it for us on this particular job
  11. Verscvamm vp 300 Feeding Vinyl crooked

Exactly what he said ^^^ New rollers have to go in a certain way. There's a paint dot on one side of each roller's bearing. That paint dot either goes towards the inside or towards the outside -- I don't remember....
  12. Please Help ID this font

Nailed it as always! Thank you guys!!!
  13. Please Help ID this font

Any help in identifying this font would be greatly appreciated. ran it through what the font and found nothing...the R is very different from the suggestions it gave. Thank you in advance!!! Matt
  14. First Post, First Printer, VSi-640

Congrats! I think you'll be WELL surprised that the printer isn't just for small runs....we run 2000 stickers runs all day long on our slow sp300v....I can only imagine how much quicker a new VSi would be. Enjoy!
  15. Glossy "Wet" Carbon Fiber Wrap Film?

We were unable to find anything....closest thing was the vinyl fx but it's not a stretchable wrap film.
  16. New Roland VSi....anyone have one yet?

Subscribed...also coming off SPv series printer...was thinking VSi over the XC and XR. For us, speed isn't an issue - we don't keep the printer running full time so I'd rather have great print quality and excellent grays. It's definitely faster than an SPv though right?! :) We have not enough...
  17. Versaworks ripping but not printing

same setup and same occasional problem here. What's REALLY sketchy is when versa works prints fine (with crop marks) we wait a day, laminate and put it back in the machine to cut and it shows in queue for a second then disappears and doesn't cut. No way in hell I'm reprinting the job, so we...
  18. Roland UV Ink Lifespan?

Hey Guys, we're extremely well rounded in solvent printing but we've been subbing out a lot of UV printing work lately with stuff printed directly to the substrate. My question is about lifespan of UV ink....as of now, we're telling customers if we UV print direct to substrate on the Roland UV...
  19. Vinyl Suggestions -- Tile Wall

Hey guys, We do a TON of wall installations to textured walls etc and recently got a more unusual request that I'm looking for suggestions on. Customer will be placing ether a printed/laminated or die-cut solid logo (they haven't decided yet) on a tile wall in a restaurant. I've provided an...
