I've been using them for over 10 years and am very happy with their service and products. One thing that I do have an issue with is the printing on clear for back lit signs. They usually double print the colors so they don't get washed out. But the last sign we had printed the colors really...
The only time we get a charge from our insurance company is when we have to add a new company as an "additional insured" with some legaleze clauses behind it. They charge around $25 for this. Otherwise they send a COI out whenever we need them to pretty quickly.
I have a similar issue when I try "page up" to move an image to the top of the layer. If you click "save" after doing the page up, it goes to the correct layer. It seems to be a bug in the program.
Looking for recommendations for a handy tablet to take on sales calls or networking to show photos of signs, take notes, retrieve information from office, etc. Thanks.
Is your router accurate enough to do this? Sometimes the routed material will be inconsistent in the routed depths. If your material is thinner in places or your router table is not perfectly level it could cause these inconsistencies. Most of the time this issue is minute and not noticeable but...
Is there some kind of paint that I can buy to paint the wall I want to wrap. I've been testing a sample of a print I bought from Signs365 back in Dec. 2015. It is holding up well in my test area. However I don't know exactly what kind of paint is on this wall. Rather than going with the vinyl...
Thanks everybody for your replies. But I am still undecided as it seems there is a fairly even split on the pros and cons of Windows 10. It makes good sense to keep up with technology and really at some point we are forced to upgrade on certain programs anyway. I don't mind updating and dealing...
We use threaded metal inserts in the background and ACM panels for the tenant names. When you drill your screw holes in the ACM panels make them a bit wider to allow for thermal expansion. Use a screw cap or a washer to cover the enlarged hole.
I bought a new computer from Amazon with Windows 10. We had issues setting it up and I returned it. Computer guy said it had hardware quirks. So now I'm shopping for another computer and wondering if I should go with Windows 7 instead of 10. The short time that I was using Win 10, I hated it...
We've used United Visual in the past. But the last time we quoted a reader type sign it turned out that our customer could buy the same sign online for the same price that we were paying wholesale. It's unfortunate but that seems to be the way things are going on a lot of products.
I recently installed SignLab 9 on a new computer. Prior to that I have been using this program for several years on my old computer. I had all my fonts nicely organized in folders in SL - script, serif, san serif, etc. I forgot about that set up. I still have the old computer. Is there any way...
The amount of time it's going to take to repaint these signs will far outweigh the cost of replacing with new aluminum composite signs, depending of course on your labor rate. Like was mentioned before, there's no telling how bad that wood rot is until you start working on the signs. I suspect...
I have often thought profit sharing would be a good idea. I'd be interested to hear how other shops have implemented this. We do mostly custom signs which can be hard to predict the outcomes for. And what happens when a job goes wrong and profits are lost - do you share the losses too? Can't...
I've seen that poll and it appears about 30% of sign companies are giving away free artwork. I've run into that a lot more lately and have lost jobs because I do not work on speculation. For one thing, good design takes time, I certainly can't just "whip out a sketch" of any merit. Unfortunately...
As far as I know there is NO paint that will stick to new powder coated materials. As for PVC, we use it all the time outdoors and paint with latex 100% acrylic paint. No primer. Scuff surface prior to painting.
