Thanks for sharing! I have been eyeballing one of these as well. I too was keeping an eye for when the Caldera driver would be available, I would probably end up waiting until that is out. It's always good to see and hear directly from end users as to what they think of it.
YES!! I started with the Summacut then upgraded to the S-Class T-Series. There is definitely a reason they cost a lot more! If you do any decent amount of cutting, I would highly recommend spending the extra to get the s-class, and preferably the tangential version!!
Nekoosa has the ClingZ or ZTac if you have access to that. That might work depending on how they are using it.
Electrically charged printable film - ClingZ
That kindof looks like what mine did, only with cyan. My cure ended up being changing the ink cartridge. After doing that and several cleanings, it was fixed.
I have silver in my S80, so I can't help with the white part. I do have white in my S70 though. I think the new GS3 ink is a little different (better), although it's still not close to that of the UV printer I have. I still think it works good for certain things, and I use it for quite a few...
There are a few names for that font. I remember when I worked for another shop in high school, everyone wanted that for their snowmobile numbers and we all hated it. haha
The 3M 8150 is a 7 year cast film, not sure what you will find better than that. All of the other optically clear films I have seen are all ~2 year removable films. For what they charge for it, it better be a long term film.
I have an S80 with silver. I have never swapped them out. If I remember right, you have to do that entire channel, which includes the orange. It sounded pretty easy and I think it was an option in one of the menus. Just wastes a fair amount off ink.
Not sure on those, but I have the Epson's and I think they work great. I have the S70 and an S80. The S70 has both white and silver at the same time. With any solvent ink, the white is not going to be super dense. If super dense is what you need, look at a UV. I just got a Fuji Acuity LED1600...
Summa, no questions asked! I have been running my S-Class T series hard for the last 5 years and it just keeps going! The tangential model is DEFINITELY worth the extra money!!
I have been LOVING the Hexis HX200WG2 and PC30G2 vinyl and laminate combo!! High performance calendared vinyl with a cast laminate. Very easy to apply and looks great!
