  1. Best vinyl for temporary museum wall wraps.

40c would be fine. 35c would work too. Key is to be able to test the paint before deciding what to use. And laminate isn't necessary for a wall wrap...it makes it thicker and more prone to lifting at the top. Especially don't need to laminate for a short term job like this.
  2. Anyone else disturbed..

Ah hell I thought you meant McCarthy taking over as Dallas Head Coach.
  3. What density window perf? 30/70 40/60 50/50?

50/50 for vehicles, 70/30 for storefronts. We laminate (when needed) with either Clear Focus or Briteline optically clear.
  4. van lettering should i go with the molding line or use a level?

NEVER use a level on a vehicle unless you are 1000% certain you are installing the graphics on the vehicle on a 1000% level surface. We fight with this all the time, especially with the way new vans are made. We have a customer with over 100 fleet vehicles, most are Dodge Promaster City vans...
  5. Question Vinyl type question

NO. This is NOT good for wrapping. Why give bad information on here??
  6. Need Help Brain Fart.........................

    AKA Carpet Frogs around here...
  7. Good Wall film

Our main go to is General Formulations 226 Wallmark. It does not do well with severely textured walls though....well really nothing does, lol... We have used 3M IJ39 for tricky walls that many vinyls won't stick to well. It's a high tack vinyl.
  8. Making a bedazzled prop?

Since it's foamcore, for added effect punch some small holes in it and string some christmas lights up behind it.
  9. Interesting dilemma

It's not that hard to explain. If this comes up, I tell them we spent money and lots of time calibrating our monitors and printers for colors to be as accurate as possible. If you specify a PMS color, we will hit it 99% of the time. We can not match to what your out-of-the-box laptop screen...
  10. Making a standing banner for our shop, thoughts?

On the right track....now lose the background, change the typefaces, and convince SOMEONE that the peach in the logo has to go. Sometimes a letter in a name lends itself to another shape (like a peach), but the letter C in no way works as a peach.
  11. Making a standing banner for our shop, thoughts?

What is the point of the banner? I would create something that at least lists or features (photos and/or text) what products you make. This is an absolute waste of time and banner.
  12. Need Help Have never done this before..............................

Why would you reverse the white to stick on blue styrene? Cut it normal and stick to the face.
  13. HELP WITH SIGN SOFTWARE

I'm wondering why you described all the 'dedicated' workstations, then immediately said they are all networked and interchangable?? And what are you using NOW? Anyway... we use Flexisign, because it's an industry standard and it works for us.
  14. Busy December?

Slammed here. Can't use my remaining vacation days because we're too busy.
  15. We don’t laminate our signs. Thoughts?

Ok I will admit, back before the advent of aqueous and latex printing (solvent being pretty much it), lamination wasn't THAT necessary. Most laminated products were car wraps and permanent exterior signage (I'm speaking of my experience from about 1995 - 2010, where I ran Mimakis and old HP...
  16. Damaged Banner Cores

I get many of those...I just return the roll and get a new one. I got a BRAND NEW roll of 3M Laminate the other day that looked like the whole thing was bent in half. But the box was fine. Had to have been damaged at the factory.
  17. We don’t laminate our signs. Thoughts?

I LOVE sign shops that make bad products. The customers that use them come to us eventually.
  18. Stay CS6? Or Upgrade to CC? What am I gaining?

Really? Interesting. Adobe stuff is one of the few things I can count on that doesn't crash or give me any headaches.
  19. Need Help 2 sided printing

Not sure how you got that out of his question...where did he say "laying decals on banners"?
  20. Question How often do you rebuild your color profiles?

The 5xx series will let you know when a profile needs calibration...I assumed the 3xx series did the same.
