On the flip side, a lot of customers (sign shops) want the cheapest price on equipment. If more customers had the loyalty as the OP expresses there would be better technical support. It's hard to put in a technical support staff when customers beat suppliers down to the lowest possible figure.
We have a customer who has one. He has had very good sucess with the machine. @ 40K (with current special) it's a good machine for the money IMO.
He has the 1608HS with the MP21 ink set.
Looking for a Mimaki JV-5 USB interface board, part # E103711. Anyone happen to have one or know of anyone with a JV-5 parts machine?
This board may also be the same in a VJ33 but I'm not positive.
Thanks for any help,
Ryan

If it was OEM ink, I would say 100% that cyan head need to be replaced. With 3rd party inks I am 50% that head is bad, 50% chance the ink is the problem.
IMHO you guys are headed down a very dark path. What happens when someone gets a bad head? And yes, at least one head out of 10 from China will be DOA.
These printheads are not nearly as reliable as the OEM Epson head. Suck it up and buy the real deal. I would rather spend the 1K for a head...
The new captop/spring was introduced to fix some issues with the captop not sealing on the head correctly.
If you have ink puddling in the captop, something else is going on. Most likely it's a clogged pump/tube.
