    100% if you're doing any photography prints, branding, anything colour critical, even colour matching (pantone), you'll want to make your own icc profiles. You can pick up an i1pro3 publish and have all the tools you'll need for a long time.

    I'm not sure if people understand that OP is turning B&W images with grey tones into a halftone pattern with only black dots. When you print the image. the printer will only print solid 100% black (not black ink, but 100/100/100/100 or 95/90/85/90 or how ever your cmyk output is for 100% black)...

    Onyx is one of the best RIPs out there and their colour management is also one of the best. Onyx has tutorials on their youtube page and guides on their website on how to create media profiles.

    Lc Lm came out in the 600/1200 series. Why are they required? light inks don't do much other than slightly reduce grain in gradients.
