  1. Combine temperature levels in print settings GsPlot..possible?

I'm not sure if that option is for heat. In the explanation, I am not seeing anything about heat, only how dense the color is. It would make sense that light would have less heat needed but I'd try it to make sure. Good luck. Fred knows a lot about Gerber so maybe he will see this and will help.
  2. Installing a sandblasted redwood sign on stacked stone

That's my point. Those who do trendy look stupid after that trend is gone hence why as sign makers and designers, doing trendy is a bad idea. Think of all the companies that have the word xtreme or grapix in their names. They are total mullets as trendy is never a good idea when it comes to...
  3. Combine temperature levels in print settings GsPlot..possible?

On the plot page, you can right click on the foil and a drop down menu has a heat option. I don't see any options for low as it has hot, normal and combinations of those.
  4. Installing a sandblasted redwood sign on stacked stone

I think we have the right to call something ugly even if there are those out there who think it's cool. I hate chalk board signs. They are cheap looking, way over used and too trendy. It has nothing to do with me being old or not cool. Trendy is OK but when it goes out of style it is as stupid...
  5. Real Estate logo usage for mock-ups?

Where did you get this price sheet? Sounds like you are out to lowball the other sign companies. If you really want to do this kind of work, I would suggest tossing out the prices from other companies and submit your own quote and see how that goes. If you can lowball them and still make a...
  6. I need a good analogy

I've sent you some horrid stuff over the years and do so as I let you decide what you can or can't work with. I've been surprised at some of the stuff as I thought it was horrid enough that you wouldn't be able to do anything with it and if it had been left to me, I wouldn't have asked you to...
  7. Installing a sandblasted redwood sign on stacked stone

That sign has a serious warp going on. What happened to it? Redwood blanks are usually painted so they don't care if the wood matches and that looks like what this is. The only way to get it right is to glue it up yourself or find a supplier who will make you a blank with matched pieces...
  8. Just In Lowe's is now competing with signs

I love the instructions on how to steal artwork online. No wonder we see so many knock offs.
  9. Banner Scam?

This scam has been going on forever. Did you ask yourself why someone from Denver would contact you for banners? Delete the e-mail and don't continue to contact them. You made contact so now you probably are on a suckers list and will get more of these scams.
  10. Discussion Wondering how many have done..............................

Love it! Wish I had thought of this years ago and now will throw in a dick or two into designs who deserve it ;)
  11. Not sure what u call this piece

Still not seeing in your answers if you are a UL shop or not. The reason is we all would love to knock out sign cabinets but we play by the rules. When it looks like someone isn't, we do call them out as it is only right to do so. If you are not a legal shop, no one is going to help you find...
  12. Not sure what u call this piece

You are making your own sign cabinets? Seems like a UL shop would know the answers.
  13. Just In Lowe's is now competing with signs

Love how the ad has a picture of a no parking sign for their example of a site sign.
  14. Discussion Wondering how many have done..............................

Been doing this for 30 plus years so I have a few. The worst was a typo on a bridge sign that said the weight was strictly enforced. I spelled it "strickly". Made the sign with a 4B so no spell check and it looked good to me. That wasn't the worst part. The local paper, seen all over the...
  15. Artist wants to cut...

Why are you asking a bunch of sign makers a question you should be asking the art supply store? Since it has become popular in your circles, it seems like they would have the kind of answers you are looking for.
  16. Artist wants to cut...

Not too sure what you mean "the polyester side" of the Dibond. If you have real Dibond it has aluminum front and back and yes, you can layer it. Not too sure hand cutting shapes would be all the easy or look that great. You could try a jig saw and might get better results. Why not wood or PVC?
  17. Question Digital Print Burnout

Did you explain to them when they bought them that they were temporary/short life signs? If so, they agreed to that and shouldn't be shocked. If you didn't tell them, they should be pretty ticked off that their signs only lasted three years.
  18. PVC Cut Letters - Non Stock Colors

If the sides were a different color, there's a good chance the PVC was printed on directly by something like OCE printer. When you say pre-routed PVC, are you routing it? If not, have them professionally spray painted where you get your letters done, Gemini or Poly Plastics and don't rattle...
  19. Suggestions Logo Critique?

After looking at this again, I think going in the direction from post #31, AKwrapguy's idea, is the best way to go. The problem I see with the script like font is you have a swirly J and B and then it just ends with a plain old M. The three letters don't want to fit together and no amount of...
  20. What Equipment is needed to bend aluminum edge?

If you don't want to invest in a brake, call a local heating and ventilating company to do your bends. They usual have a small charge for that.
