Maybe a dehumidifier to work with the AC might help the AC from having to work so hard and can be set a higher temp over night.
  2. Flat cutout graphic mounted to flexible face sign

I think taking it apart to see how it fits together/works is a good idea. Do you know who made the original sign?
  3. EXTERIOR CHANGEABLE SIGN PANEL

48" sq isn't a lot to go by. Is this a main sign with tenant panels that can be changed? How many panels? Illuminated or not?
  4. Neep Help With Repaint Of Old Metal Sign

Nice to see an old sign get refreshed instead of replaced as some here suggested. These old ones become landmarks and it is always sad to see them go. I still would look into having a base coat of paint put down by an auto body shop, then add on the details after the base is down. When you...

  7. Neep Help With Repaint Of Old Metal Sign

Do you have a photo of what you are redoing? Is it a shaped sign so there's a good reason to redo rather than replace? If you are worried about the background paint, why not have it sprayed painted by an auto body shop.
  8. Suggestions Logo Critique?

I do like Rick's bar that connects the J and B better as the transition is smoother. When blending letters together it helps make it look more cohesive and intentional rather than just put together by computer. Overall it is nice. I love a logo done with just type and without all the junk...

  11. Sign Auction

Well that made me feel sad. Most of that stuff is dumpster grade materials.
  12. Always get a signature...

Also good idea to get a sign off on service work too.
  13. Discussion Just how frickin' stupid can people really be........... ??

My all time favorite is someone calling for a sign. You ask what kind and they reply "You tell me, you're the expert." My other favorite is a customer that wants a sign installed but no holes, no screws, no bolts or glue of any kind to be used for the install.
  14. Removing Acrylic Panel

When you pull the end retainer, does the acrylic look like it was cut with some slack? Not sure how cold it is where you are but we have some faces that are frozen in the retainer, could that be why it's hard to pull out? If not, it might be that they didn't under cut the acrylic so it slides...

Is there a retainer you can remove?

  17. Good article

Are they serious? Doesn't sound like a bright idea. Instead of printed cups, why not encourage refillable cups.
  18. what is this?

sounds like this stuff. It is super light weight.
  19. what is this?

It looks like a direct print onto the surface of the material and then it was laminated with clear. From what I rad from the responses, I think it could very well be printable PVC. It doesn't have surfaces and a core, it is a solid piece. The weight of it so light, I didn't think it could be...
  20. what is this?

I tried to peel the green off the material but it looks like it was printed directly onto the surface of the material and then that print was laminated with a clear. This material doesn't have a laminate of. It appears to be one solid piece with a semi smooth surface, kind of the same as a PVC...
