the effects are rasters and the graphics are vectors... they are being RIPed differently. most rasters rendering intent is perceptual and vectors are relative or none. the intents can be changed in your RIP ( set rasters and vectors to the same thing.. i use relative colormetric)

bright orange is going to be tough to get.. especially in a bitmap form. if it was a vector in cmyk you could get the best orange it will do. we had a printer with cmyk plus orange and green just for that kind of thing.

you won't get many hi res graphics without paying.. istock photo has lots of stuff. freds express clipart sells that kind of stuff too. there are lots of sites and disk. aurora graphics now sells individual downloads. or you can take your own photos .

JPG are set to perceptual rendering most of the time.. that results in a more pleasing picture but changes some of the colors. change your RIPs rendering intent on JPG to perceptual for this and see if it helps.

you may be better off to outsource your printing to a wholesaler.... if you don't sell digital prints at the moment you may not end up with enough demand to justify the cost of owning your own printer. that said you can get into it much cheaper than you could a few years back.. mutoh...
