I totally get what you're saying, and I agree with you. Ironically we did also bid on install and they decided to self-perform.....but I'm still trying to be helpful where I can.
Thanks, ideally looking for something local that we can easily get our hands on.
Forgot to mention, these are 26" high x 3/8" thick aluminum letters, being installed in winter temperatures.
Gemini says talk to a hardware store...........
Do you guys have a brand/series of silicone you like to use for winter/cold temp stud mount installs?
We supplied a bunch of flat cut aluminum letters to a customer for them to install, and now they're asking.
I personally don't install these (we usually sub out installs like this) so I'd like...
Do you have more details on what you're using for this? Seems interesting. I mean we use Google Analytics and all that but it doesn't go that far.
Thanks.
I don't have any first hand experience with the Colorado, but I do have a tip: Don't believe what salesmen tell you. They'll say anything to make a sale, then who cares what you discover down the road.
Personally I would never put anything unlaminated on a vehicle unless it's coming off in a...
Thanks for that, but my password was not something obvious and would be something that is considered "strong". No idea how it was leaked or cracked, although I wish I knew.
I'll check out MS Defender.
Just wanted to see what you guys are using for virus etc. protection?
My email got hacked a couple of months ago and made me realize how exposed we are. Also reading the other thread about backups and ransomware threats got me a bit paranoid.
We've always gotten away with just having Avira...
Yeah they're definitely slow, and inconsistent. I approved 2 orders (same job...you can guess which one lol) and somehow the flat cut aluminum letters (made in US) shipped faster than laser cut standard color letters (made in CAN).
Of course both are lost in transit now, but definitely moving...
Where we live (Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada) we have 4 drastically different seasons. We go from -50c to +40c and currently have the most snow on the ground since 1956 I believe. I always thought having 4 seasons was fun but I do fantasize of places that never see snow. It's been a painful...
Interesting, I didn't realize there were non-3M primers. I definitely agree that you can tell where primer has been applied. We stripped a sprinter a couple years back that must have had primer applied with a spray gun or paint brush - it took 3 full days (roof was also completely wrapped)...
Your supplier is recommending you use 3M primer w/ Avery wrap films?
Has something changed with this combination or is your supplier out to lunch? I was always told using primer for any non-3M films was a big no-no.
Just curious more than anything.
Either way, I hope the install goes...
I think that's a great idea, and something I've always wanted to do to help customers visualize how certain materials look on glass.
Let me know if you change your mind about using glass and want us to cut some acrylic pieces for you, we've got tons lying around that we need to get rid of!
We've had this happen too on our Arizona, and is always due to static causing dust/fibers to cling to the carriage.
Keep your humidity as high as possible (50+%) and visually inspect head area and sheet before each critical print.
We get it from Polymershapes in Winnipeg. Not sure if you have a local branch and if 5x10 sheets are even available, but we seam 4x8 sheets on our benches (Some of our benches are 5' x 8') and unless you happen to be cutting right on that seam it's not a problem.
We have a 5/8" or 3/4" plywood...
Could you seam the plywood then get a 5x10 cutting mat for on top? Either that or see if you can get 5x10 sheets of puckboard, that's what we use on most our benches.
