  1. Should I charge more than $29 for this sidewalk sign?

the 10000 is 1.6 million.. the esko is like 180k. he would need 1000 signs a day to pay for that.
  2. Stick With Roland or Go HP Waterbase?

As someone who has operated Rolands Mimakis HPs Mutohs Let me get you my thoughts on this. Rolands older machines are work horses. I'm not a huge fan of their newer models are i see many people have problems with them. With that said I feel like they're overpriced.. by alo. Mimakis are also...

  4. Should I charge more than $29 for this sidewalk sign?

You sell 10 a day at 300 dollars total. You'll spend 3-4 hrs making it. at 80 an hr shop rate, you're losing money, and you havn't even got to materials yet. good luck. You'll need to sell 100 a day to make it worth any while.
  5. Your Thoughts on new shop set up...

Is there a reason you're spending time advertising something... that isn't going to make you very much money?
  6. Textured Wall Install Pricing

anything textured is 4$ sqft MIN. Sometimes $5. it's a SLOW process. pretty much it's a 3 part process that if you don't do it slow enough the whole job is screwed. You're going to need certain tools to get it done, and if it isn't printed on ij 480 or 3524 then it won't work
  7. Your Thoughts on new shop set up...

With something like this you're really limiting your options. Rush charge should be based on a % of the job, not a flat fee. You should develop some sort of minimum.
  8. What would YOU do with the money?

Sorry, i'm not that guy nit picking at a couple hundred dollars a year. For us it makes sense. It's easy. Very Easy. That alone is worth it to us. I'll pay more money for an easier process. If im paying 600 dollars a year for the next 20 years im in business, and in that 20 years i do 30...
  9. What would YOU do with the money?

For programs like Flexi, a subscription is useless. Not because of money, but more because they upgrade like 2 things every 17 years. Also their tech support takes like 5 months to return calls. This has been my experience.... Their rip literally lays about 60% too much ink, and is very...
  10. What would YOU do with the money?

You're looking at it completely wrong - We pay 50$ a month for Adobe Cloud. 600 a year. How many hundreds of thousands go through that software? Very small investment for the support and constant upgrades.
  11. What would YOU do with the money?

We use subscriptions on most of our software. For us it's just way easier for the amount of seats we use, and always wanting to stay upgraded... We can't stay at Adobe CS 2, when firms send us cs 6 or CC versions. as for spending the extra money.. Definitely not to a flexi product.
  12. L360 Worth the Upgrade

upgrade. My prints start instantly, and i get 135 sqft an hr.

woah easy there. I'm saying you're on track and doing very well. I'm standard too my man. You're taking this the wrong way. 140, is a little high from what I've been told. 120k per guy is more like it. 3 guys at 500k is huge. I compliment you and you get offended.. lol.
  15. Sign Shop on CNBC's "The Profit"

Just and FYI to some of those out there. Taking a typography class, and painting is much different than running a full fledged sign and graphics business with manufacturing equipment.
  16. Sign Shop on CNBC's "The Profit"

    420k+ is pretty standard.
  17. Sign Shop on CNBC's "The Profit"

2 production people.. but how many people are being paid in the business overall?
  18. Need printed Truck door names

A job like this is honestly just a huge waste of time. We turn this stuff down daily. We just don't make the money we need on them. I'd quote $250 for print and install on that, and the guy down the street charges 80$. huge waste of our time.
  19. Need printed Truck door names

probably you're trying to get 6 sqft printed at a wholesale rate. For something that small find a local company to help you... Most shops are going to have a minimum.. and you're most likely going to hit it.
  20. Sign Shop on CNBC's "The Profit"

I think he misspoke when he said that.. and that wasn't what he meant. From my understanding, he doesn't want graduation and birthday banners. He wants the bigger work. 2 years ago we stopped taking that stuff in, and really concentrated on the larger scale jobs, bigger companies, and move more...
