  1. Discussion What's the most common design mistake you see made in sign design?

He wanted you to print the Royal Coat of Arms of Canada?
  2. Measuring with a Drone

I send my drones out all the time to measure signs. They are more accurate in the morning. Once they eat lunch they get sleepy and are more prone to mistakes.
  3. USPS Craziness

If you paste this into the Urban Dictionary look-up it doesn't return anything about shipping rates.
  4. USPS Craziness

USPS Priority Mail is about the only way to get anything out here quickly at a cost that is reasonable. We have the best luck with stuff coming out of the mid-west (Kansas). Less than a week when all the stars align. The only issue is the condition of the boxes. I think the guerilla that used to...
  5. What should I have done question

If at least one person in the store (to include yourself) had a mask on you were either 100% safe of 100% doomed, depending on who you get your news info from. I'm no Jussie Smollette - I would have abandoned the sub.
  6. Curious how you deal with this type of job

It works fine with eco-solvent. I didn't know you were not supposed to pint on it until it was years too late. Just make sure you get fresh stock - the older 7725 gets the harder it is to get off the plastic backer - printed or not.
  7. Freaking Stupid Dell botches the new XPS 17

Because it is poor etiquette to walk into Starbucks and take over a full table by setting up a complete desktop system.....
  8. VJ1324XS black stopped printing

Yes they are on the right under the capping station leading down into the waste bottle. 2 years is pretty new. Think your maintenance station is looking more like suspect #1. I have a 4 year old 1624 that gets used a good deal and I just changed out the station, dampers, and head. Black was the...
  9. VJ1324XS black stopped printing

Sounds like the maintenance station or the cap tops are allowing air to get to the head while it is parked allowing the head to dry out. Black is almost always the first channel to go. How old is the printer and have any of the parts been changed out? You could start with the cheapest solutions...
  10. Freaking Stupid Dell botches the new XPS 17

Ouch, self-inflicted are the ones that hurt most. With all the wrench turning, welding, and sign installing I have done the only time I have ever needed stitches was clearing jungle - managed to cut through a branch and sink the machete into my shin.
  11. Freaking Stupid Dell botches the new XPS 17

So what happened in the yard?
  12. Window Tint with Logo? Can it be done.

We reverse printed on clear - installed on the car windows (inside) then added a layer of medium (35% I think) neutral tint behind the prints. Looked good and seemed to not bother the driver's view. Most likely not DOT Kosher, but we told them if it was an issue we'd remove and refund the cost...
  13. Question Anyone used a WOOD CHIPPER to grind up coroplast drops?

I don't know about chipping coro but I do know it does not work well for shredding banners...... I am hoping they will allow me to return to my tool rental place in 2022 when my probation is up.
  14. Punctuation/Comma help needed

I know I can not help, I will remain here quietly watching to learn & maintain my jerk status at its current level. (Grammarly removed the comma I added to its)
  15. Never been real fond of Uncial, until...

This is really nice. Brings back memories from my childhood. Our first house here on Guam had a crushed coral backfilled yard - no topsoil. Just weeds and a slimy algae in place of grass. Every weekend my dad would have my brother and I remove the rocks for hours and then run a walk-behind...
  16. Pontoon Boats

You could save by making the boat. I made one out of 55 gal steel drums many years ago for a charity race out & back to a small island about a mile offshore. It did really well until it became a unidirectional submarine. We were only beaten by one of the parks and rec managers that just duct...
  17. A very different type of monument

That's nice. Seems monuments are all the rage these days.
  18. Customer Mask Requirements

I am pro mask - the more of my face that is covered the more handsome I look. I just wish my wife wouldn't force me to wear it when we go to bed.
  19. Suggestions For walk-in sign businesses - Your COVID-19 update tips

I don't think Viagra is going to help with his rising tension.
  20. Customer Mask Requirements

I had to watch it twice after I forgot to turn on the Canadian-English subtitles the first time. Good stuff.
