Not only did the ink itself cost big bucks, but the cleanup is going to probably cost just as much...if the ink is going down the storm drains that means "Hazmat" must be brought in to clean that up as well!

Seriously? You do learn something everyday! lol I liquid laminate banners all the time, and would think roll laminate would shrivel up the banner as the roll laminate shrank over time.
I have one and don't use it. It's a pain in the butt to hem a continous straight line the length of a banner, the throat of the machine isn't large enough to hem pole pockets, the heat isn't the same throughout and gets hotter on the ends where the screws are burning holes in the banner...
I think anything other than a nice wood basketball court or a nice green football field is completely stupid! Its enough just to keep your eyeballs on the ball and what is going on in the actual game and changing these things just makes its even more difficult!
I use FineCut 7 as well, but it isn't as easy and quick as a program dedicated to cutting vinyl because you have to setup all your cut lines and it isn't automatic like a dedicated vinyl cutting program. I only use Finecut for things that were digitally printed and have to be contour cut thats...
