  1. does static cling go bad?

I did 3 4x4 write on erase boards for a customer and he loves them, except he called today to ask why magnets don't stick to it. OK so anyways after I explained that a write on erase board is not made of steel unless you tell me you need to use magnets on it...blah blah...anyways he was all...

  3. Yea sure...I really want you working on my house!!!

The side of the truck had 3 digital prints and one of them had a huge tunnel going through it.
  4. Yea sure...I really want you working on my house!!!

If this is the way you letter your own van up, why would I want you to finish my basement let alone replace a light bulb!!!:ROFLMAO:
  5. Summa D160SE Opos Calibration Fails

I have the d-140 and have always had issues with detection. 3ml lam is a problem and anything printed on matte material. I found that if I use a pencil eraser over the registration marks, the reader works. I guess it likes to look for a dull black square.
  6. Need Advice On A Color Conundrum With A Customer

Bright lime green would be next to impossible on my printer....
  7. Customer is pulling a job because I didn't respond to a text, really?

The problem with text messaging for me is that if they are not in my phone and text message me it comes up simply with a phone number and I have no idea who it is. Outside of that ,text messaging is not a business form of communication. If something is of importance, the phone is the best...
  8. Floor graphics questions

The customer is talking big numbers but as predicted he only wants me to start with one or two. I am not making an investment in full rolls of 3m product to do 1 or 2. I can buy removable adhesive vinyl and a floor graphic laminate by the yard from another supplier. It's just not 3M. I have...
  9. Floor graphics questions

My knowledge of floor graphics is pretty basic so I was curious if those of you who have experience may help me out. I have a marketing company that wants a 48" circle floor graphic, and the quantities will vary and the locations of install will vary. I asked some questions and find out that...
  10. My .pdf files have weird looking I's & L's

I have noticed this for years and oddly enough not one client has ever mentioned it on a proof.
  11. Cartridge recycling woes - Challenge: Canadian

Too late!!! Tossed 50 of them in the dumpster 2 months ago after switching to Jetbest. If your in the greater Toronto Area, may as well toss them out as our garbage is trucked for disposal in Michigan!!!
  12. Yellow shadow on prints Mimaki JV3

I have seen this on my machine the odd time..but never enough that anyone outside of me would see it. I have had issues with my yellow head for some time, but again, not enough to have to throw any $$$ at it, and I give it a nozzle wash twice a week and a good cleaning 2 or 3 times a week
  13. Shout Out To Gino

  14. JV3-160SP Banding/Splotching Problems/Color Shifting

Looks like banding...Have you done a print adjustment?
  15. does your vinyl ever behave like this?

This roll is a 3ml general formulations vinyl. I am not sure but I think the backing paper is a lot lighter than it used to be as I get this problem happening quite a bit with their films. Only in the 48" rolls mind you.. I have also had it the odd time with 3M sc50 vinyls as well...
  16. auto reduction of nodes in Signlab

    Thank you so much......
  17. auto reduction of nodes in Signlab

I remember in Signlab 5 that if I auto digitized something and I wanted to reduce the nodes, I could double click on the shape and then hit ctrl U and it would highlight every other node and you could delete them reducing the jagged effect. I don't know if it exists in Signlab 8...anyone know...
  18. Going to try to print on cast laminate...it should work...shouldn't it?

I am printing and it looks amazing. I have to slide some white paper underneath to see the color properly. very cool.
  19. Going to try to print on cast laminate...it should work...shouldn't it?

I have a sign face to replace and instead of printing a massive sheet to cover the entire face I can print, laminate and cut the different sections. It is a widely spaced sign with logos in 3 different areas plus I need to cut some black vinyl as well. I was about to order 2ml clear to print...
  20. Fair or unfair?

You were put in an awkward position. You were told the truck was the same and printed before seeing the vehicle. What alternative did you have? You could have talked it out before you started the install, but would you be willing to throw it all out if he refused to pay the extra costs...
