  1. Vista 64-bit....

XP 64 sucks. Vista 64 works way better
  2. Torn..

+1 for the 54" You will save the extra money in time spent lining up tiled prints and by being able to print bigger banners $$$$$ Don't forget the laminator. 95% of all your prints will be laminted (none of your banners)
  3. Anyone know about this Roland UV LEC 300

This machine is going after a small niche specialty market. The texture feature is cool, and it is slow.
  4. Gemini Fonts

Malkin, they plot the patterns on a plotter. If you provide them art using their fonts they will follow your file. If you were to call the order in they would kern the order to standard kerning.
  5. Best way to get a black/white image in CJV30

I gave up on greyscale on our Roland. Lighter greys have a green cast and darker greys have a red cast. You might play around with your rendering intents in your rip software. Best of luck.
  6. Gemini Fonts

If you get an account with user ID and Password you used to be able to download them off of their site. Kerning sucks on half the font, but they are nice enough to put a G- in front of their fonts. Keep in mind that was about 5 years ago.
  7. $3.000 joke!

I am not a Flexi fan, but price of software is based more on the number of copies sold and development cost. Adobe sells alot more copies and I think it's overpriced. For those using Corel and tired of Flexi take a look at SignLab. The company is in the same town as Corel and they trade...
  8. Font Help.

One thing I do if I have to hand trace letters is reuse letters that are used more than once. It saves time and makes them uniform.
  9. Font ID Please

    Plaza Ultra
  10. Font ID HELP, Please!

Unless you are only replacing or adding parts, I would just pick the best one and unify their fleet. I think it looks bad when every vehicle is different.
  11. having problems routing 1/2" aluminum

The width of the bit = the max depth of cut in aluminum. 1/4" bit = max 1/4" depth. With deep cuts orient your two mister nozzles so that a majority of the time they are blowing down into the tool path not just on the exposed bit.
  12. Looking to get into wraps

I design at full size and 100 - 50 ppi depending on the viewing distance and overall size of file. I like know what size text is in a full size version. A 300ppi file at 1/4 scale has the same # of pixels as a full size file at 75ppi.
  13. Mutoh streaks in green print. Help!

You should be ok, St Patties day is a long way off.
  14. Mutoh streaks in green print. Help!

Looks like you are running 2 pass? try to bump it up to 4. Material might not be spending enough time on heaters and the inconsistncy in adhesive/paper/vinyl thickness with be throwing it off. I have only had sucess with paper on 2 pass.
  15. Mutoh streaks in green print. Help!

You just spent alot of money with your supplier and will buy even more materials in the future? I would think they would bend over backwards to help.
  16. Mutoh streaks in green print. Help!

Thought you had two of those machines right? Send it to the other one and Isolate the software/computer vs printer.
  17. Those blasted 18x24 Cor-x signs!

I agree Pat, repeats are nice. We are miles from stouse so we eat the shipping but thats it.
  18. Can't Find it...

Nice Shovel, Looks squeezed in the pic as well
  19. Printing Wraps

8 pass is plenty for a wrap. The problem is you bought the SP540 and its not the speed demon workhorse like Rolands other machines. Just learn to mutitask and set your internal clock to check the printer every 3 to 5 minutes.
  20. Those blasted 18x24 Cor-x signs!

I show them the Stouse price list. If its to expensive "thats the best I can do". We are not set up to do them, and I won't do them for less. My day is full of potentially more profitable jobs.
