  1. Another odd ball project we did this week

Very neat! Excellent work. I also really love doing jobs like that. I have a guy that owns a very nice, huge apartment complex in DC that just calls up, will speak only to me, and asks me to replicate all sorts of aluminum architectural details, decorations, railings that were done back in the...
  2. license issues--grrrr

Regarding the requirement that your company must employ a licensed electrical master or licensed sign electrical master... I would contact state electrical licensing and ask them if the licensed master can use his license at more than one company at a time... because in many of the states we...
  3. Got a check from a scammer today!

You could email him back and explain - "You'll never believe what happened at the bank.. they actually cashed that check for 30,000 instead of 3,000".
  4. Got a check from a scammer today!

Thats interesting stuff. Ive never know anyone who actually got the check.
  5. license issues--grrrr

Honest, thats what we do all the time. Go right to the man.
  6. Some interesting offers...

That coro guy seems a little lapse on his shipping details. Maybe he has his own angle.
  7. license issues--grrrr

Why not ask to speak with the inspector(s) for the area you wish to provide this service? You will likely need to speak with a building inspector and an electrical inspector but there may be more. That inspector may be your best contact. He/she knows the full criteria of what he is...

Great responses. Many thanks to you all. I am on it now.
  10. Carbonless Multipart Form Printing Sources

We need a few thousand basic forms printed that we use as workorders in our shop. These are 8.5" x 5.5" (half letter size), simple one color printing, 4 parts, carbonless, and each set consecutively numbered. We want a good price, however we want the handwritten imprint to be very legible, good...
  11. Things You Can't Get Anymore

Deliveries were COOL. Bread and Milk, but only when I was just a little guy. In Alexandria, Va. we had a really good home made ice cream delivery truck (local private label), a Charles Chips potato chip/pretzels/cookie truck, and another private label Charles Chips knock-off guy that had...
  12. Channel Letters where to get them

From ME! We just shipped a set to GA last week. Give me a call 717-328-3300 or 800-328-9410 or PM me for email. ~John
  13. Things You Can't Get Anymore

Bit-o-honey is at our local Cracker Barrel store along with a few others from the past. You might check that out. I remember the bottle pop savers and the pull-tab canned drink rubber pop-in savers too. Havent seen those in a long while. I really don't remember any of them working all that...
  14. Vinyl broke the glass?

The only time I have ever seen vinyl even remotely suspect in storefront glass breakage was with one that WAS also East facing but was fully sheeted with opaque black vinyl and was installed in a very "rigged" looking frame system also. Much like your example photo though, a shadowline cast by...
  15. Dimensional Sign before and after in the works

Very nice. What material did you use for the Cornice detail? Is there a "roof" piece to close off the top in some way? Well done, love it.

  17. multiple passes

Yes, depends on the software you use. Are you selecting the same tool that your trainer selected when he demo'ed it taking only 1/4 of the thickness per pass? Toolpathing programs usually have a way to set the parameters of the tool you have selected (like depth per pass in your case).
  18. Ideas for substrate holder

For full sheet storage we layed 1" x 3" steel channel on the floor and welded 1" diameter pipe about every 4" on center. We have three of these inverted "comb" assemblies and the full sheet stores on edge, in the bays, very nicely. Small pieces are stored on edge also but we made up a few...
  19. Things must be getting worse out there

I'd really like to hear more about this if you are willing to discuss it. Did you find a translator? bilingual marketer? I'm really curious about this. Best of luck to you.
