  1. Illustrator and photoshop not printing same blue.

It's your over print settings. If you uncheck Simulate Overprint it will be white in Acrobat.
  2. Illustrator and photoshop not printing same blue.

You did check for the spot channel in the PDF in Acrobat? If it is there and shows correct then it sure must be a Versaworks issue. A PDF with a raster spot channel shows up as a correct spot in Colorgate.
  3. Illustrator and photoshop not printing same blue.

Doesn't Versaworks support PDF files with spot colors? Sure it must, and you can save a PDF with spot colors from PS.
  4. Illustrator and photoshop not printing same blue.

What happens if you save it from PS as a PDF with Spot Colors checked. Does Onyx see the spot that way. Onyx should be reading that spot, or is that an RGB tif, as I know some RIPs if set for an RGB workflow will not read or show spot colors.
  5. Illustrator and photoshop not printing same blue.

You need to think of those CMYK value as a output color not an input color. That spot color your wanting ends up being a CMYK output color because that is how the printer is addresses. Because of the way your two color are read/input they output different The Spot Color Library tells what CMYK...
  6. Illustrator and photoshop not printing same blue.

Check your Spot color and see if that is a CMYK value as well, because I think that eye dropper value is the output value to the printer. That is the way it works in Colorgate. Once you know the CMYK output value for the spot color then you can change the incorrect color to that value as well.
  7. Illustrator and photoshop not printing same blue.

It would be nice if some of the many fanboys of Onyx on here would say how to change colors in Onyx. I am thinking I remember that was possible in Onyx when I tested it a couple of times. I can easily do that in Colorgate and in fact I did just that with your file. The other RIP we run Fiery XF...
  8. 25500 Black dropout

How does the nozzle check print look?
  9. Illustrator and photoshop not printing same blue.

Two questions. If you design in RGB why not use the Pantone RGB equivalent in both IL and PS? I thought Onyx had a option to pick a color and assign another color to it. Even a Spot Color. Can't you do that and make both blues print with the same values?
  10. Flexi ink limits

The only way to change the ink limits is to create a linearization if you can edit an existing one. For 30" media I am sure you're going to need any external spectro to do the linearization and profile.
  11. Flexi ink limits

Using the high ink setting, have you tried the maximum number of passes with highest drying temp and the cure temp as high as you can get it without damaging the media? Short of that you will have to set your ink limiting on the RIP to be able to use the High Ink setting. I would think using the...
  12. Flexi ink limits

The high and low option is actually a printer setting. You might be able to force that with a RIP setting but that is all the RIP does with the high and low option.
  13. Flexi ink limits

What media are you printing on? I can't remember very many medias mostly fabric that we used High Ink on when we had our L25500. What per channel limits and total ink limits are you setting with the Low Ink settings? Also what are you light ink splits settings?
  14. Question HP 360 Profiling w/Caldera

I think FrankW is confused once again. Between Contone device addressed as RGB and Contone device addressed as CMYK.
  15. Question HP 360 Profiling w/Caldera

Wrong! This is applied at RIP level. How do you think you can tell the RIP to print pure primaries and that is what the printer does. What you can't control is the lc/lm splits other then to turn off lc/lm. When you push ink density to say 170% you need to be able to limit ink per channel or...
  16. HP 260 Vertical Banding

I can't see how curing temps would have much effect. Drying temps maybe. If you have to keep curing temps lower then you'll have to up the passes to get the ink fully cured.
  17. HP 260 Vertical Banding

    Try decreasing vacuum.
  18. Print stopped. Rip software is closed. No error messages. Damn Win update!

We are forced to run some Windows machines here. The Fiery EX RIP is set at Win 7 and no updates are allowed. Window 10 running CG RIP Is setup as you suggested it will only ask and then you can cancel it. No rebooting on it own but it does nag you every day. Windows 8.1 running Fiery XF has...
