  1. Flood fill in onyx

Glad to hear you got it sorted out. I've definitely been there with trying to figure out all the layer and spot fill settings, hard to remember all the steps sometimes!
  2. Do you think a Vanguard needs an air scrubber?

Question for those who are running these, do you just plant them in the middle of the room in between all the printers? Do you run them 24/7 or just when printers are running? I've wanted to add one of these for a while but haven't been able to wrap my head around the logistics. We have a...
  3. Summa F1612 - Cuts are consistently off in one direction

Any Summa F series owners out there have any issues with cut accuracy when cutting printed vinyl? I've tested out all the of the cutting tools: Drag knife, Kiss-Cut tool, Single Edge Tool, Heavy Duty tool, and ALL of them are cutting off to one side. (Looking at the front of the machine, all...
  4. Flood fill in onyx

I believe you'll need to use "Quality Layered" as your quality setting, which should enable spot color generation. You may also need to be using a quickset that is set up for cmyk -> spot -> spot in the layer options (or whatever layers you're looking to use)
  5. Question Insurance payout after fire

Wow that's fast. Glad they got you covered that quickly. Maybe I'll check out Desjardins and see how they compare.
  6. Question Insurance payout after fire

No worries, was asking Canucksigns! Hope your friend makes out okay with insurance and gets back up and running soon.
  7. What if Covid vaccine required a subscriber fee?

Who knows James, nothing would surprise me at this point. I read an article last night about companies and places potentially requiring proof of vaccination in order to use their services. (Airlines, concerts, restaurants etc.) That might get ugly, but if that's what it takes to get chit back...
  8. Question Insurance payout after fire

Who do you deal with? We just got our new policy from Wawanesa and it went up 40% from last year. I've got our broker working on it but definitely not an exciting expense to add to this year!
  9. HandCrafted HDU sign

Looks amazing! Quick question: What did you use to glue the letters on? Was that done bare surface to bare surface or paint to paint? I've been wanting to play around with some HDU projects but I've still got a lot to learn in terms of what you can and can't do. I did have a chat with...
  10. My special offer for Dec 2 thru Dec 8, 2020 “Listen Better”

Seems to be the theme of the year, doesn't it?
  11. New to the forums !

  12. Good cheap plotter for heat transfer vinyl? (Asking for a friend)

A friend of mine is getting into making his own shirts and clothing. He already picked up a heat press but is on the hunt for a small cheap plotter. I'm trying to help him find an affordable plotter to start out with. Any suggestions for where to look and what brands? (Sold in Canada...

  14. WTF (What the Frosting)

Thanks guys. Customer is adamant that it is only installed on one side.........that's what is throwing me off. I'll quote it high with a pending site check and see if it goes anywhere.
  15. WTF (What the Frosting)

Ugh! Sorry attached what I meant to in the first place.
  16. WTF (What the Frosting)

Any thoughts on what this material could be? At first glance I thought it was just your standard Mactac/Avery whatever frosted vinyl, but the overlapping areas almost look white in color. I need to provide a budget price on doing 30 doors to match this design, and of course can't do a proper...
  17. Suggestions Aluminum Cleaning

I feel your pain. Are you running 256 inkset? We are, and have always struggled with this same issue. This is the closest thing to a solution that I've found: https://www.matthewspaint.com/Products/Cleaners/Matthews-Paint/Conventional/Plastic-Prep-6428SP.aspx The best results I've had (still...
  18. Zund / Oce Procut VS Summa flatbed cnc

We added a Summa F1612 this summer. Definitely more cost effective than Zund or Esko and from what I've seen it's enough of a workhorse to keep up with our demands. We've used it for kiss-cut/die cut decals, trimming banners, prints, sintra, coroplast, routing acrylic and acm. I've recently...
  19. Large Vinyl Install advise

Aren't the letters knocked out? If you don't premask there won't be anything to hold it together....
  20. Large Vinyl Install advise

We would use a similar technique for something that size. Make sure you soak the adhesive and lexan down real good, go over everything lightly first to get most of the Rapid Tac out then work your way out from the center with firm pressure. I personally like starting with a larger squeegee...
