Get the JV4, they are faster then the JV3 and do not have heaters so they should cost less. They also do not have the chip sensors that the solvent printers have, so running dye sub will not be a problem

If you are not using it as your go to printer it may be worth the risk, but think of what it would be like if it breaks down and you are stuck waiting for tech support that includes an 8 hour time difference and a language barrier. Next day parts delivery usually turns out to be 4...

The new Mimaki head is an all steel industrial head with a 100 billion shot life. The current Mimaki heads have a 6.5 billion shot count life. Of course you can get more out of an Epson head, just using these numbers to compare. So it looks like if you take care of the heads they...

You need to get the black and cyan head cleaned up. That head is pretty bad, get a mirror and have a look at the bottom of it.Shoot me a pm and I'll get you a tech manual
Sepiax inks
I think what has been keeping the Sepiax from gaining market share is that most all the small format printers (64" and under) all run Epson heads. Epson will not work with equipment manufactures unless they are going to be receiving revenues from the sale the ink. (the ink Tax)...
Getting your hands dirty

Please don't get your hands dirty, where some gloves! Eco solvent is still solvent. I yell at one of my techs all the time for having ink on his hands when the box of gloves is sitting on his bench.
Aqua Print
Specialty Materials, maker of heat transfer products just came out with Aqua Print water transfer for glass and ceramics. You can use solvent or laser inks. It will air dry or you can bake it for better durability.
I have some samples coming but i have not seen them yet.
Mimaki
Had the same problem. Seems there is a catch on the left side that was updated to fix the problem
