Couldnt make it this year, but my buddy Chris has been practicing pretty consistently for the past 2 years and has gotten really good. Wish I could've gone!
  2. Booze in the shop?

Its a fine line. For a brief moment, production becomes awesome and then it really doesn't.

I always brew my own weaselpiss...
  4. What do you wish you would have known when you first started screen printing?

How the ink gets EVERYWHERE. And if you ever do any work with plastisol and glitter, expect to look like you spent your lunch face-deep at the titty bar for the next 6 months. To coin Demitri Martin, "glitter is the herpes of craft supplies" I worked in a silkscreen shop for many years and...

  12. just tell them

Chris was by far the biggest a$$hat this forum had ever seen when he first started. Needless to say he stepped on a crap load of toes including mine. Over the years he has grown up a lot and after eating several servings of crow he has developed into a contributing and generous member of this...

  14. Maps on business cards and postcards

Jills got it. Thats exactly what you need to do. A screen grab of a google map just looks half a$$ed.
  15. Quick and dirty logo. Needs critique

Im diggin it, just need some tweaking. I'd enlarge the front left blade to exaggerate the perspective, and I also think you need to see more of the R. I like that you incorporated the drone into the logo also. Don't know how I feel about the 'services'. Maybe just put it below the "DRONE"
  16. My own Logo....

No. Design something without all the effects to get yourself a solid logo first.
  17. Customer turned "competitor"

Happened to me too. Two good friends that decided to partner and start doing signs themselves. They lasted about a year and are no longer friends with each other.
  18. A lot of work for a low impact sign...oh well...

Love subtle. with letters that large, they wont miss it even if its the same color. I can never sell customers on subtle. I'd love to do a full 3d sign in all one color and let the shadows and highlights define it.
