  1. MDO vs. Flatbed

I don't know a lot about the construction of the flatbeds, so I have a question to ask prior to throwing my idea out. I'm assuming that it is constructed simular to a router, (which I have more experience)... "How high will the gantry raise?" (Or is it stationary, and the bed moves under the...
  2. Cutting software for Corel X3

Summa has a program that you can download from their site that is designed to run straight from Corel. After installing, there is an icon you place in a tool bar that looks like a plotter blade. It opens win plot, and from there, you can send to the summa plotter. As far as sign tools, I...
  3. I need some perspective, ASAP!!

I agree. And how would it look if the point of the bubble were pointed out, rather than in to the center (that would give more of the illusion of people outside the "frame" rather some point in the center of the frame.) Bash the logo? I can't. I like it. I like the abstract star, nice hidden...
  4. Cutting sign vinyl on a CNC router

About 15 years ago, when I worked at a sign company that made gas price changer signs, we used our router to cut vinyl for the numbers. It was an ESAB Signmate 2000 with a 10' x 20' bed, and it was a pain. Between taping down the material, and making sure that the bit didn't go over the alum we...
  5. Fire Company font

Hello, font guru's, I need to letter a couple of fire trucks, and I need to match this font as close as possible. To the best of my knowledge, it came from the factory already lettered. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance, Mark
  6. Help with corel

I don't have x-4, but I imagine that its not much different than x-3. Once you select File / Save As on the right side of the pop up box there is a selection that says version. It has a drop down box where you can select the version to save as.
  7. how to remove neon

The Pontiac GTO was an automobile built by Pontiac Division of General Motors in the United States from 1964 to 1974... Ok...bad joke. Like said before, if you don't know what your doing, you will want to get someone in that does. But to be safe, go in to the customers breaker box, and...
  8. You couldn't pay me enough!

I bet it would be by the time you get to the sudden stop at the end...
  9. Preparing MDO for Vinyl....

Like said before, fill the voids with a filler (I use a good quality body filler) but I run a hand held router with a 1/8" roundover bit around the edges, then prime with kilz, and paint with a couple of coats of one shot.
  10. Anyone know this font?

Does anyone know this font off hand? I'm looking and I see a bunch that are close, but not close enough. Thanks in advance, Mark
  11. Cool Desktop Program for Windows and Mac

    That is pretty cool.
  12. Buy a Printer and Get a Wrap Business

I saw the same statement in the new Fellers Catalog, and I thought it was another one of Franks cowboy comments...
  13. Help in finding OLD font

I don't think that is a font... It looks really close to a letter clip art from the Vector Art 1 CD. Fred may have it on his site.
  14. Recent Alaska Sunrise/Sunset Pics

I love Alaska. I went several years ago for a couple of weeks, and it was utterly amazing. I was there in early August, and had a little bit of time to adjust to the sun not setting fully. I'd have to say my favorite part is Roosevelt Lake about half way down the Denali Highway. More...
  15. Pricing 12 Semi Trailer Wraps

So your saying the going rate for an 18 wheeler trailer is $6.18 per sq foot? I personally don't have a printer, but the going rate for a quality print (outsourced) is $5.00 per sq foot (printed and laminated...but you can get it for as low as $2.99 sq ft)... I think your too low... I...
  16. Red Laser to help with your Christmas shopping...

I was looking at a couple of things for my sister in law the other day, and I was standing beside an employee in the electronics isle. She was listening to me try to describe the thing to my wife and sis, and they just were not getting what I was saying, so I said, "hold on, I'll take a picture...
  17. Smart Phones.... Need to Pick one

And I'm on the other end of the spectrum. I have the Storm, and I love it. I have only had one problem, where the camera locked up for some reason, and I had to take the battery out. Other than that, no problems what so ever. The one thing that I did do, when I got it, I had done a lot...
  18. Emergency Vehicle High Vis Reflective???

Avery... With only 22 posts under your belt, I am going to assume that you haven't heard the horror stories of avery reflective. Lots of people here have been kicked in the south side by that crappy vinyl, so expect to hear it. Personally, I use 3M reflective for all my applications...
