  1. can illy users explain this to me

sounds like this could have been a CAD file at one time. I get these all of the time. Apparently with some CAD programs curves are not possible but instead are drawn with dozens of straight segments that from far away look like a curve
  2. Gator Vector

when I am sent jobs that are autotraced it takes less time to start from scratch instead of moving dozens or perhaps hundreds of points to match it correctly Maybe I am a perfectionist but I think that is what most of my customers expect from me. If this graphic was viewed from far away it...
  3. Gator Vector

    Yeah, I can tell:doh:
  4. Accepting credit cards ?

What about Square's online processing? Anyone have experience with that? They say 3.5% + 15cents. Is that for every card? Currently I know my %'s vary depending on what kind of card it is. Those rewards cards cost more. I think I see about 10 different percentages of fees, all close but they do...

  11. Skulls? Used in advertising.

all it needs is some upper case Old English to finish it off and toughen it up more
  12. Anyone sent out a Groupon?

No. It does have a limit though. The number of people who can buy a groupon is limited. I looked back at an old one that I thought I suddenly needed and it said that they allotted number of coupons were already purchased
  13. Irate Mac User

all the more reason to wait for a .1 or .2 of your OS. I know previous Mac os's have had issues that not everyone was happy with and were fixed in later versions I did play around with a machine at a store and the backwards scrolling I immediately found odd. They should have made the original a...
  14. Upgraded to Lion OS - Am I screwed?

Another problem is to look at the external this way... You likely use an external as a time machine backup. By having your os and backups on the same drive then what happens when the hard drive goes bad? Usually your backup and your main HD are 2 separate physical drives. A partition is simply...
  15. Upgraded to Lion OS - Am I screwed?

I wouldn't run your OS on an external hard drive. I don't think the USB ports of most externals have the same speed as an internal drive
  16. To any & all owners

    You are joking right?
  17. Software to view vector files in bulk?

Not necessarily on Bridge. If you saved them yourself yes. But i have some older files in clipart form that I did not create so the preview was never created and thus no preview is possible
  18. increasing pixels??

i think the important part to point out and where I doubted you was the original image in your second post. The image you attached was only about 1-2 inches long but the customer in fact did send you better images. You were limited by the size of the allowed attachments here at signs101 I think...
  19. Looking for Recommendations

Does your software not allow you to do negative angles? I know in Illustrator you can adjust the slant/angle of any font. Think of it as a faux italic
  20. US map with separate states for cut vinyl?

do a negative outline (inline) of each state. They will be distorted (lose some detail) but it will work. Just don't pick too much of an inline. Then delete the original outline shapes
