  2. Is things really that bad ???

I like how he spoke of walking the bankers through one of his construction sites during the site work and discussing all the good to come with the banks additionally provided funds. It seems one of the bank executives spent a little too long on site and asked him.. why there were trucks dumping...
  3. Newly completed project

    Great work.
  4. Actress Brittany Murphy Dead at 32

I don't know anything about her but... yeh I agree. It might be a ploy to hide bad stuff or maybe her husband just doesn't want them cutting her body all up. It actually is possible. However she died thats sad. 32 is too young.
  5. Rout job larger than material

Yep.. sometimes I do the same. Just place a couple 1/4" holes in each of your drawing files for the sections, saved at the the same place. Then toolpath them seperately. Run the hole toolpath for the first part so that it just touches the spoil board (so you have a fixed reference marked on the...
  6. Sign I made for a friend for Christmas

Wow.. respect for that xacto work.
  7. Thoughts on this

A 12 point wrench is used on a 6 point bolt/nut because of limited working room... allowing you to bite it and turn it with less twisting room available. I'm liking the last one you posted the most so far. The city/state font still aint quite right. Nice work though.. and nice wrench.
  8. Wrap my Hoopty!

"donk" thats the word I was looking for. haha
  9. Hahahaha...

We have a property split by a 2 lane public road. I decided to shoot some conduit under there, hillbilly style, to get some electric for our lake side. So I start digging my holes on each side. Couldn't believe it when I found a huge fiber optic cable about 18" down from the surface. I didn't...
  10. Hahahaha...

So he was digging and hit their buried line? They will go easy if he is the homeowner digging in his own yard though. Now if he were a contractor, he'd be hung.
  11. Brackets for Double Sided Signs

3/4" wide X 1/2" web aluminum channel. full height of each side. Paint channel the color of the sign edge (outside border). Screw the channel to the posts through the inside of the channel. Then a couple face screws through the 1/2" web into the pvc sign. You could also just use a single screw...
  12. Powder actuated nail gun...

Season specific.... "Your gonna shoot your eye out with that thing". Tapcons are always hot and cold. You develop a "feel" after a while but sometimes they fail anyway. If you are using the bit that comes in the Tapcon box.. it sucks, so get a better quality bit. I never get more than a few...
  13. Things we do for our kids ...

She's gonna want you to keep that 1-dadpower engine running, save time for lots of that. Awesome project. Hats off to you. ...and as they say in a popular country song... "Dont Blink" (and I mean that).
  14. Oval Sign Cabinet

Of those.. no. I just looked, but we never took any. I am bad for that.
  15. Can't find font for channel letters...

Open the kerning a little and that shouldn't be too bad. We are actually quicker with curves than we are with straights. Just run all the returns through the notcher end to end. Whoever this Ruolf guy was, I bet he had forearms like popeye.
  16. How thin's your spoil board?

The last I bought was from A&M Supply in Springfield, Va (formerly Allied Plywood) for $46 (+-). Harbor was higher then too so I would check. Harbor also didnt carry the Trupan brand.. which is the proven one.
  17. Oval Sign Cabinet

The flex was stretched between short sections of surface mount flex frame by Eastern Metal (EMS) and secured with the tension clips/bar they have for their frames. Our square tube was face cut to receive these frame pieces. We then used our router to make the face of the retainer (.090) and...
  18. Oval Sign Cabinet

http://www.bii1.com/benders/hydraulic-roll-bender-rh45.php We bought this roller used about 6 months ago. have used it to build 3 ovals and a bunch of arches and rounded corners so far. We used 1-1/2" aluminum sq tube for the outside retainer edge to get the tension strength on a couple of...
  19. How thin's your spoil board?

I use Trupan as the spoil board cause it lets the most air flow. I surfaced it too thin once (about 1/8") and the vac sucked divets where the plenum board voids were. i now stop at about 1/4" and toss it out.
