Im right handed but ALWAYS weed from right to left with left hand. However if Im doing phone numbers they get flipped upside down.
I also have found if I weed as soon as it comes off plotter i have a better chance of not messing up letters

it kills me how some will say "They had artwork done" and when you ask for file they send a bmp or a thumbnail. These are kinds of jobs I would prefer just go away. The main issue is people look at crap on the screen but we have to deal with it in real life.

3 mill acrylic (be very careful with this stuff) and digitally printed graphics on clear, if its alot of detail. Use the top end vinyl.
If you were more experience i would try and remove tattoos and just use the panel its on, those letters should come off pretty easy.
I use to but since economy crashed I ride around unmarked white cargo van. Which is good cause I wont get busted by the Man when i do some window lettering in neighboring towns
for paint stencils we use cheap vinyl as it costs less than stencil vinyl. Also keep in mind before you paint the actual stencil take exacto and cut a line between each letter so you can rip off just that one letter at a time if need be
ALWAYS peel it wet especially with latex and use foam...
