  1. Discussion Considering the switch to latex, Who's done it and Whats your thoughts

A local sign shop friend of mine has one and it's been troublesome for him. Steep learning curve, the machine acts weird and often breaks down. I won't try one.
  2. Versamm stopped printing?!

Try a self printing test without using a file. Put new ink in and test print several times.
  3. Versamm stopped printing?!

Could be out of ink, air in the lines, clogged nozzles, etc. Try another print and see what happens, do an extensive self cleaning on it, insure the wipers are clean.
  4. Imageclub10!!!!!!!!!!!!

He called me a couple weeks ago, rude as hell and hung up on me.
  5. Vinyl Removal Tool

Quite an interesting way of doing it. Thanks for sharing.
  6. Staples closed next to me

Making paper copies is like sign companies doing tshirts. It's not worth the time or little profit you make.
  7. Review New logo and website

I have to be honest, the colors are too bright, hurts my eyes. Also the overall layout looks plain, boring and unprofessional for a sign company. I used to be a web developer so the little things bug me. I recommend checking out some of the larger national sign company websites and the wholesale...
  8. Grimco buys Advantage Sign & Graphic Solutions/Advantage Sign Supply

Crap that is where I got my grommets. I wonder how this is going to affect things.
  9. Material Issue?

I actually don't see the difference, but I refuse to work with fire departments anymore, they are extremely picky and will want you to either fix or knock down the price for any kind of tiny little thing they find that isn't even visible. I even had a roll of black reflective fail, told them I...
  10. Alternatives to vinyl

I believe the reason 3M is a leader is mainly due to the name and with their wrap school and dominating the market with advertising, classes and sales people, it makes people want to buy it. Avery had that splicing issues many years ago that cost people hundreds of thousands of dollars and...
  11. Alternatives to vinyl

I refuse to touch 3M, I've found some of their products to fail more quickly and the price is highly expensive. You can't say "Nothing Compares" because you haven't tested every brand and every product. You may be a hardcore 3M user and that's fine, but don't knock other brands. For instance I...
  12. "RAMCHARGERS" font

See if anyone helps you again
  13. Canvas

I do Canvas at my shop, I've tried about 7 different brands and kinds. The very best I've found is the SEAL Pure Color Monet Light. It is already coated and the print quality is amazing. Plus a double print (twice the ink) looks great as well. Make sure you get the "Light" and not the regular...
  14. Wall graphics job

I would do $7.50 / sq. ft. plus installation
  15. Question Window perf

Many use alcohol for prepping substrates for printing, but never heard of using it on a window. Try using a foaming glass cleaner without ammonia, it's pretty amazing stuff. Sealing the edges are fine, but there is no reason it should curl. Make sure the window perf does not touch the rubber...
  16. Graphtec FC7000 64" Plotter

Selling a Graphtec FC7000 64", great condition, brand new packs of blades, brand new blade holder, brand new cutting strip. It has ARMS for crop mark detection, high pressure cutting, it actually cut out magnets. Comes with the drop bags to catch your vinyl and keep it clean. Comes with 5 pinch...
  17. Really cool looking storefront!

Yes but vinyl is a block out, perf you can see out of. Big difference. You may have a different kind of customer but thousands of other people will want it. I hate to see a merchant picked on because one or two people won't use his product.
  18. Really cool looking storefront!

I am going to sell this stuff regardless of code enforcement, because in my area, a window sign is a window signs. There is no difference in it. 95% of window signs do not require a permit. Not backing down due to "it might not be allowed". Most sign and zoning regulations I've met don't know...
  19. Really cool looking storefront!

Use lighter or medium colors and it'll be easier to read. Also the video is in motion, if you were moving slow or standing still, it's perfectly readable.
