i remember the green machine but my parents couldn't afford to buy me one so i got a big wheel my dad picked out of someone's garbage and fixed but it did have the hand break on the side so i could do spin outs....thanks dad!!!
a big thanks to Dan Ramm @ TyrrellTech-NJ for great service! the other day i received a roll of material, ordered from them but drop shipped from the manfact. and it was damaged (not Dan's fault ) and it caused a jam up on my roland vp so they are working on a credit for the damaged material...
when we charge extra we call it a prep/set up charge (that doesn't pertain to artwork design as far as the invoice says) i would say if you have it on their invoice that you charged them for design or artwork as a separate charge i think maybe they have a legal right to it. (i am not a lawyer so...
if it was just the last few yards i have had that one time before. the very end of the roll had a wrinkle real close to the core so it left a mark in the last 5-7 ft of lam. and it won't go away i just chalked it up as a loss. if it was an ongoing thing i would contact the vendor let them know...
i don't use too many vector templates. usually i just go take pics and measurements and use the pic to do my proofs. works out fine. if you want i do have some pics of the ford transit and i think i have both with windows (i thinkthis one is a 2010) and with out ( this one is 2011)
+1
this kind of goes with that other thread of scrap materials. if you are keeping scaps on the side for future use, do you throw them out when the manufacturer's warranty runs out?
this is just the nature of the business and you always think something will come up that you can use it for but when it does great big profit on that scrap that another customer paid for.
every couple of months i weed through the pile and throw out some stuff if need be to keep it to a...
clampy-thingys....i get confused when you use technical terms...haha
is it possible you had it set to cut only and it was searching for prop marks
(never had that happen when trying to print)
we find customer errors from approved artwork on a regular basis. we do some government jobs that have a lot of areas that need to be checked and i can understand something slipping through the cracks but when you approve your phone no. or email and it's wrong you are just an idiot
most of the...
i understand the point of not wanting to put out the crappy customer art and that reflects on your business but i think 85-90% of my work is good stuff and maybe i get 10-15% of the crappy customer art so i think i can live with that risk and put the money in my pocket.
we have the same issue with our roland machines. the gloss is acceptable but the matte vinyls give us a better print. when i print on reflective and have this problem i just put the setting to high quality print, takes alot longer but it solves the quality problem for us.
i am sure i will get a bashing on this but why is it so bad if the customer has a crappy logo and you reproduce it for him. we have two art guys that work with us and they are very creative but if we offer this service to the customer and they decline and want to keep their crappy logo i am not...
I have used the canvas profile also with good results. No on the lam and haven't had any curl issues just make sure you or the customer clean the wall before application.
+1 to all that and another problem is maybe it has to do with the type of paint they used. i had that happen with a customer once. i used 651 vinyl and i did it for them orignally no problems and then they repainted and i re-did the same job but this time it wouldn't stick. the only thing i...
