  1. What Can You Do?

Not that I'm disagreeing with anything anyone already stated, but - to offer an alternate perspective... If this lady wants to DOMINATE the teen, or maybe pre-teen girl wireless market... then maybe she's on the right course. She probably has a better chance of getting and holding market...

  3. banner layout

The best way to gain the design direction you need is to ask your client(s) the right questions, and let their answers guide you... Eg. What is the primary objective for this banner? Where is it being installed? Who will see it? What is the primary message, and why? How will you...

  5. Size of Town to Sign Shop Locations?

It is difficult to say how many signshops are too many, based on population alone. However, I would suggest you start with the assumption that the market has a balanced supply and demand. In my experience, it's not saturated. Most signshops have what I would call a passive/reactive...
  6. Adwords: Money for nothing or works?

Amen, brother Striker. Ranking tops with Google is great (and no small feat) but how much qualified traffic that number one listing of yours is sending your way is what really matters. Make sure you`re optimizing for the right terms, using Keyword Research. Here's a pretty good primer. This...
  7. Time to renew our yellow-pages ad

There's an old quote about advertising that seems to apply here, Mosh. Have you heard it? "I know half of my advertising works. I just don't know which half". The message is this: Start measuring the results of your advertising. Know what works, and why... and invest your time and money...

  11. I need some constructive criticism on my website

A bit Off Topic... Wow. This thread could have gone an entirely different direction. I looked at the website yesterday, and honestly didn't know where to begin with any sort of comment. Good comments from all. Kudos to everyone who has responded - and to you Randy for your reaction to the...

  17. I need some inspiration

Great answer... and I know you were asking about that window space - but - that space is really more suited to reaching people already on their way into your business... or those parking there, to enter a neighbouring business. Personally, I don't think you're using the big, beautiful...
  18. What To Do If A Competing Business Undercuts You In Price

Well now... That's more like it. Sounds to me like a better strategy would be to use a "loss leader" (doesn't have to be sold at a loss... ), or an "introductory offer" to get a trial order... then wow them with everything you do, and can (and will) do for their business. Coming from a sign...
  19. What To Do If A Competing Business Undercuts You In Price

Why? My guess is that you are failing to leverage your greatest strengths. And a word of caution: Customers loyal to low prices are easy pickings for the next "discount specialist" that comes along. And there will always be someone cheaper.
  20. I need some inspiration

I think you're asking the wrong questions. Before we go there, I'm curious to know (alot) more about your location and why you chose it. Bob may be right, but not (IMO) for the reasons he gave. I'm also curious to know what you're doing to grow business with, and through existing customers.
