  1. Font ID - Bold, square

Whatthefont.com kinda stinks. I got to where I always use whatfontis.com instead because it returns much better results on average.
  2. Ill Eagle

I know in Illinois we don't have to worry about it. There are no obstruction laws pertaining to back and rear side windows, given the car has working rear view and side view mirrors intact. We are also allowed to cover the top 6" of the windshield.
  3. Logo feedback

Does nobody have time to read these days? It helps tremendously.
  4. Oh, how the creative have fallen

I'm going to tell you what my grandmother told me. You are very talented. Don't waste it.
  5. Inkscape to Corel issue

    Pictures, please.
  6. Bubble issue on corrugated plastic sign

For applying vinyl graphics to coroplast you need a felt squeegee or big squeegee and you want to apply the vinyl while pushing the squeegee the opposite direction to the direction that the flutes run. So if your flutes run up and down, you want to squeegee from left to right or vice versa...
  7. hand drawn or a font ???

Yes, really. Anybody can tell the obvious differences.

  9. NOT a minefield price question....

Yeah, we get that too. I think he's referring to the Sign Contractor's Pricing Guide from ST Media.
  10. NOT a minefield price question....

That doesn't make much difference. I have every volume of 2010-2013 and the prices go up pennies every year so we are only going to buy the new one every few years now ourselves. Haven't bought 2014 and don't plan on it.
  11. Flower Shop Logo feedback

Your copy is all over the place. Almost reads "Country & Floral Gifts".
  12. La Bajada Hill, recreating a lost 100 year old sign

You work barefoot too, huh? :rock-n-roll:
  13. Flower Shop Logo feedback

Those are just fonts I would recommend laid out in a fashion similar to yours. It's a starting point. I'm in no way implying that the logo shouldn't have an icon or finishing touches intact. Maybe I should have left the pictorial out of it, but it's better and simpler to illustrate the typefaces...
  14. Flower Shop Logo feedback

Perhaps something like Style Casual and Sylfaen fit the bill.
  15. Flower Shop Logo feedback

Ouch! That needs a lot of work. You have zero contrast and likewise it fails the squint test big time. You can't even tell what it is from the thumbnail. Looks like a green oval. Lose the oval, for starters. It's unnecessary and clutters things.
  16. Sign remake

Very true on all counts. Great layout as usual, Pat. You got mad skills. :rock-n-roll:
  17. Signs 101 Design Contest for New Federal Division

My submission Well, here's my submission. Coming up with a motto for a federal office in charge of removing ugly signs seemed to be the most challenging part of this. I came up with "Good signs are not ugly. Ugly signs are not good". Yeah, not the most creative, I know. Anyway, here's what I...

You might also try modifying the letter R so that the main copy fits together nicer. The R with it's long tail makes it appear as though the kerning is off.
