I setup a kiss cut that cuts exact... Then cuts a square around the media, but below the registration mark. I tell it to pause Inbetween kiss and perf cut... Once kiss is done, I'll weed it while it's still attached to the graphtec. Then I'll unpause for the perf. It - that way the paper gets a...
Care to share your profile? we hit the colors pretty good... But it's more opaque than the sample 3m sent us. I haven't had time to play with it since, but I expect lowering the ink amounts is an easy fix.
And it's a bigger joke than that. Not just the flexi rip...you need the special traffic...
For a huge job I usually run a Cleaning before hand. Depending on what's printing you may want to add the bar on the side to keep all the heads printing.
Ie- if most of your roll doesn't use magenta... Then 75 ft into.the roll red prints... It could start banding. Whereas if you use the bar...
Yes. It doesn't have to be flush... But being centered is too far off. I just printed on some banner that was an inch and a half away from the edge... No issues. After reading your post I was a bit worried since it was a brand new roll, but it worked good.
It has some leeway... But 5" is too much!
We have a client that we do 10-15 vehicles a year for, that has 3 stripes... different sized, and equally spaced. We use 180 for all 3 colors on it, but we pre-space and pre-tape the whole thing up and it seems to work great. It prevents wavy lines and keeps everything spaced perfectly. Most...
This is why I hate copyright. Charge for your work - if you design something... Get paid for it. If they bring it elsewhere, who cares?
We charge for everything we do. Say we're charging $2000 for a vehicle wrap and we estimate 3-4 hours of graphic design. Well tell the customer it's $300 for...
NYC is pretty big. I'm sure there's a few reps out there... Why not contact the place you purchased it? Our rep stops by all the time and is more than happy to answer any questions.
Summa is more expensive, but it can do roll to roll. If you plan on doing a ton of decals it's a big time saver. Ive only seen videos... But people swear by then.
Graphtec is also good... We use it to cut thousands of decals out a day. Only thing I don't like about it is roll to roll... I...
For stuff like this, it's easy to price.compre to online vendors like sticker mule and giant. 100 is $141... That's $1.41 per sticker.
Depending on quantity, material, and die cut complexity we go cheaper or higher. As with everything... Find out your base cost of material + time + machine...
I know your company sells and services oki and epson so you have a vested interest in switching people over, but it's not helping anyone when your go to latex solution is to buy a new printer that have their own problems.
As to the problem at hand... Is it not curing properly in all spots, or...
People focus too much on media cost in my opinion.
Find out your hourly cost to operate, including overheads, / rent, etc. your ink cost, and your material cost.
Convert that into how much it costs you to print a linear ft of media... Take that value and decide how much profit you want...
Well, luckily these are thermal heads a d not piezo which cost $2-3000 each.
Heads are about $110-130... So it's not TOO big of a cost to replace them. The ink lines may be fine.. If not its not too bad to replace them either. But they're closed off so it should be OK.
It depends if it fits...
It depends on your minimum and how you do pricing. Most shops have a $50-100 minimum. If some guy walks in off the street and asks for one 4" circle decal.... You don't usually say "Sure, that'll be $100". You tell them there's a minimum... And they can order 20,50,200 or whatever you need to...
I don't do sublimation... Although I want to and will be soon.
I thought one of the main problems with sublimation is color consistancy? I know hps. New sublimation is a supposed game changer because of its apparently consistant color... Or so they say.
Again... I don't do sublimation or know...
All the material. If someone prints a 12" x 120" decal that's 10 sqft. But even if you use a 30" roll you're wasting 25sqft of material. You won't always have something to print alongside it.... So charge for all of it. If it's a big order, figure out how much material it'll use and charge by...

Tells you compatible.windows versions...(Newest isn't listed but I imagine it'd still work) as well as media it prints on.
Depending on how long it's been sitting it may not be worth it. Clogged heads are a pain...they may have been damaged...
Use 3m PPF. It's way more expensive than oraguard/xpel.. But it's so clear you cant tell it's on for the most part. Great warranty also - we just started getting into ppf... So I can't vouch for long term looks, but 3M claims to have the best, clearest, non yellowing ppf out there. It goes on...
