So it just slides in like an insert? I like this idea.
I'm going to meet with the customer at the rink this week so that should clear some things up. Apparently they don't have the depth for a lexan cover/overlay on this particular rink but we'll see when I get on site.
I'll keep you guys posted.
I just got one of these for work https://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX70670
I also upgraded to 16GB of RAM and it hauls ass. Fastest laptop I've ever had/used. Runs Quickbooks/Excel/CorelDraw/Illustrator at the same time no problem. Haven't tried pushing it with Photoshop yet but I'm...
Thanks Sean, will definitely look into that. Either way we'll have to spend some money to upgrade from current version of Onyx so it doesn't hurt to consider switching to Wasatch. I supposed Caldera is another option but don't want to switch to Mac or even VM for that matter.
Cheers.
I've got an opportunity to buy a used Summa S140 T Series plotter for a good price. I've been wanting to try one of these out for a while to help out our Rolands to keep up with shape cut requirements. Looks like it's a couple of years old but seems like a good plotter still. Has OPOS but...
Ahhh one of the lucky provinces that doesn't need front/back plates eh!
Regarding your questions, we've done some doming over the years and it CAN be very profitable. The thing that can quickly kill your potential profits are using specialty materials (think chrome/brushed silver) and ordering...
Thanks Dan, interesting article. I also didn't realize that the NHL boards get replaced after every game, but that makes sense! Those sponsors pay big bucks for that space and obviously want their ads looking fresh. Would be a great contract to have...sounds like a never-ending revenue stream.
Morning All,
Hope everyone had a good weekend out there.
Just curious as to what people use for hockey rink board ads in terms of materials/printing method. I've got a good customer that is on the board of a bigger community center and they want to update some boards and possibly re-do all...
Funny you should mention clamps, I did bring some with me but didn't end up needing them thanks to the temporary zip ties. A grabbing stick or magnetic grabber thing would be handy to have for sure in case you drop things into the abyss. Ironically all I had to do was walk around about 10' of...
Getting burned from a flatbed 30 feet away in another room? Seems a little dramatic to me.
Our flatbed doesn't have covers and you can see the UV light from anywhere in the shop - has never caused any issues.
I was using 3mm dibond.
Install went really well. Ended up using bolts w/ big washers and 3" x 3" dibond plates on the back with another washer and a nut. I brought a little platform so I could reach over the top of the fence to access the back of the top bolts, and trimmed the bottom plates...
I would tend to disagree based on what I've seen on boat forums/facebook groups. Those guys are dead-set against renaming boats!! Also, bringing bananas aboard is apparently frowned upon........go figure.
That 5952 will tear the paint/drywall off before it drops the sign. My only concern would be if it is susceptible to vandalism or damage. Aside from that, it's not coming off with 5952.
Thanks for the tips guys! Like the idea of using zip ties to act as a helper, I definitely hadn't thought of that.
Think I'll use that method with toggle bolt/back plate.
I'll report back with my results.
I feel strange asking for help on what should be such a simple install.....but I'm curious how you guys install dibond signs on chain-link fences? Any tips for installing solo? I've got (1) 36" x 36" sign to put up and don't want to pull another person out of the shop. It's on a section of...
When I first read your description I was going to assume overspray due to static but that looks pretty strange.
Does it always do this? What is the temperature/humidity in your shop?
Dryness/static is always worse in the winter so we have an in-line humidifier on our hvac system and regularly...
