I dont print as much as a fulltime shop would but I change the dampners on my xc540 about every 6 months to be safe. I would think if your test print is fine its either a dampner or a pump on its way out. But I am FAR from a expert.

Rick, Do you use Cadtools? I downloaded the trial version and have noticed that when there is a clipping mask involved the numbers are not quite correct. Am I doing something wrong? Seems pretty straight forward to get the area by sq inches but the clipping mask throws a wrench into the mix.

Not sure on a mutoh but I would assume they are similar but on my roland you have to draw ink through the head from the capping station drain tube with a syringe.

Can I ask a dumb question? How does the aftermarket ink ruin a head? Does aftermarket ink dry up in the lines easier and plug the heads or something? The ink doesnt actually do anything to the head physically does it? Not trying to be a smart ass or anything. Just curious.

Everything I have found online for PS shows how to make the image edge fade and I know how to do that with feather. Just cant find anything regarding the shape and fading the edge of it.
