I have my tech working on it. They thought it was the ethernet cable. I have since replaced the cable and haven't had any problems yet, although I haven't done a lot of printing and cutting yet. It has happened with multiple files. I will then reprint and cut the exact same file that screwed up...

What bothers me is that I used to have Versaworks setup as a network printer where I would just do a file-print directly to versaworks. I do use a PC with Vista. Ever since I got my new machine,both with Vista, it tells me that the proper network drivers are not available to install the network...

I have been having some troubles with my VP-540. When I am cutting, mostly with the align cut after laminating, the machine will cut long random lines. It will follow the cut contour line then just randomly start cutting long line all over the material then go back to cutting out the contour...

Thanks Kurt. They are for the local Chamber of Commerce who has paid some money down already. I think I will probably end up outsourcing them. For the amount of time it would take me to do them versus the profit difference to outsource them, it wouldn't make sense to do them myself.

I am just wondering if anyone has printed double sided banners with their Roland? I am using a VP-540 that I bought new about 1 month ago. I have an order for 100 2' by 6' banners and I am trying to find the best way to make them. Thank you for your help!

Have you tried a new file to see if it still does it?

Do you use the strong solvent or the eco solvent inks? That is the only part that I am still trying to figure out. I don't know which inkset to go with.

Use your Roland Spot color system. Pretty much guaranteed results.

That it good to know. I am guessing the bidirectional adj. is about the same as on the Roland, which is very easy to do. I clean my Roland about once a week, but it seems that I never have hardly anything to clean up around the heads and cap tops. I will definitely keep in mind to do the manual...

That it interesting, I have never cleaned my encoder strip. I have had my printer for 2 years. I have never had a problem either.

I have a Roland and I am getting a new Mimaki JV33. From what I have been told, from the rep who has sold me both machines, that they are both very similar. I just liked what the JV33 had to offer, as well as the price difference. The main difference with mine is that I am going from eco solvent...

If it is the little edge on the left side of the picture, then it probably the blade offset setting under the cutting adjustment on the printer. Try adjusting that and see what happens.

I think it is v.6.9? I had the get the direct file from my roland rep to install since I couldn't get the installer to work with Vista. I can email it to you if you want. I need to make sure I can find it again first.

I am guessing that you use a Mimaki? What inks are you using in yours?

I have heard that the white is know to clog the heads if you don't use it constantly. And the ink settles fast.

I am definitely going to be using the 6-color setup. I think I am leaning towards the SS21 inks, plus with these I also have the option to use the White Ink if I want to.

Do you notice where the SS21 wears out the printing parts faster? I have been told that the SS21 inks are a lot harder on the machine. ???
