Today I had a regular customer come in wanting me to match a price on a 1,000 busines cards. they got there quote from REDTAGPRINTS.COM,

When the hell did they start doing retail? And they claim to be only a trade wholesaler.
If it's vinyl material you can use a vinyl decal, but if it's a nylon type material dye sublimation is the only way you can go. As for sewing a banner on you can use a nice soft fabric instead of say 10/13oz vinyl
It might be the paper your trying to print on, I would try Sihl products, I don't have a Roland but when ever I do posters/paper signs I use Sihl Trisolv mates & gloss papers and they look fantasic.
