  5. GS6000 vs. the new Seiko W-64s

agreed. the jv33 or the latex are pretty sweet. they'd have to be in that list. i wouldn't buy anything until you see both of them installed. the latex is an odd creature but it prints beautifully and the prints are bone parched dry right out of the machine. and i don't understand how the...
  6. Not drawing ink

does sound like the cart is not doing too good. you'd contaminate your line, but you could put a different cart at that spot. but if you already ordered a new one... definitely air can be leaking at the cart seal.
  7. Not drawing ink

when you pull ink into the damper, you'll see the membrane concave under the vacuum provided by the syringe. let the damper hang free for a few minutes to observe. one, it shouldn't leak (it can "want to" if you have a full cartridge. but shouldn't drip). two the concaved membrane should...

  10. SP300 Print Head Serious Problem Please Help :-(

sorry. i read the paragraph. maybe i stayed up too late working. the colors will print in the wrong positions because the printer believes the heads are in their original positions. the colors are inverted as well. that's supposed to happen. the reason for the data swap is to see if the...
  11. ****MIMAKI JV3 won't boot

nah there's no extra grounding of the head. you can just leave the one screwed in place where it is and hang a new printhead outside of the carriage. before calling the tech one thing at a time. get a proxy head plugged into that spot to see if it boots. if not, take off the slider board...
  12. ****MIMAKI JV3 won't boot

do you have an old head that doesn't throw error 07? if so just plug it in, duct tape it to the carriage and see if it will boot.
  13. ****MIMAKI JV3 won't boot

sounds like you need to first send in your slider board to macmedia for testing. if it's an emergency i'd take out the main board and send it too. it can be frustrating to be overnighting two packages that could have been one shipment and faster if both went together. things the slider board...
  14. White + Metallic ink price & speed

i've found the best way to switch white to color is to get a syringe on the ink line (damper side, take off the damper). get a cheap refillable cart at the other end. fill it with acetone, and pull aggressively at the ink line then push aggressively. do this back and forth. you will hear the...
  15. SP300 Print Head Serious Problem Please Help :-(

that's bad data. can be caused by a bad cable, loose cable, bad carriage board, or bad head. most often it's a data cable that isn't properly seated. this is my printer doing almost the same with a loose black data cable. you can do a data swap on your printer to see what is going on (head...

  18. Rasterlink pro5 issue

yeah i read the pdf. was all talking about oem's. i think they have their sights on mass marketing devices and high end manufacturing. like a machine that prints a newspaper right in front of you at the air port. or a phone that spits out business cards, photos, directions, office...

  20. memjet wide format - extreme speed

i've wondered it they've considered slowing the thing down and altering the amount of jets. forget exactly but i think the heads are set up for 1800dpi! and 1 picoliter! yikes that's small. i'd be happy with a 5 picoliter 600dpi machine that could do a 4x8 in a few minutes. this thing...
