This is written in the manual:
"The wiper roller foam does not last indefinitely and should be replaced after extended use. The printer tracks the length of substrate wiped by the roller, and displays a warning when replacement is due."
Only the gear is permanent, not the foam around. Wiper...
@ AF:
Don't be irritated. I agree that regularly you might think that 400% is needed, but at the latex I think (not shure) that the number is an average per ink channel.
The list isn't correct.
The unit we have currently available for testing (owned by HP switzerland) have up to 80% (not 70%) ink limit for 4 Passes, and 120% (instead of 100%) for 8 Passes. There are additional "vivid" modes available with 12 Passes and higher. But the firmware of this machine...
One time had the same problem with mesh on a customers Latex 330 (not delivered with platen protectors). We have putted full water bottles in the loop of the media attached to the take-up, works fine :) .
The parameters of the markers are not "written" in the barcode, the barcode stands for the name of the cutting file. As long as no error message appears after the barcode is read, the plotter finds a cut file belonging to the print. As long as the plotter correctly start scanning markers the...
I don't compare. It was just a sample of different sensitivities.
We had that kind of discussions too when the first affordable Eco-Solvent-Printers enter the market more than 10 years ago. Some People are more sensitive than others. I'm shure you could have the same discussions with someone...
There is PVC, Plastizisers and much more in the media. And when putting heat on that media this components could gas out faster than under lower temperature in a solvent or on stock. There is a reason that shortly 3M have created a PVC-free self-adhesive, and HP offers PVC-free wallpaper for...
It is possible to check the contents of the ink with the Material Safety Data sheet which could be found as follows:

For my opinion the curing system of the HP 500 is closed because it otherwise would blow a...
Ink is no low solvent ink, it is a waterbased ink. There are a few additives in the printers ink for several reasons (as with other inks too), the only thing what could be named a "Solvent" is a small part of 2-Pyrrolydone, an additive what is in other Designjets ink too (Photo and...
Machines are good for line drawings. Can't compete with the printing quality of regular Photo Printers if printing pictures and posters, but produce acceptable quality in relation to the speed. In europe, because of mandatory service contracts and so on, it is not economically to use that...
Light Inks do not add ink amount, they replace ink amount from the C and M-ink. It will not be 1:1 because light ink can print with more density on lighter tones, but the total ink usage will not be so much higher. And this more density on lighter tones will improve the quality.
HP says that...
3 or 4 years ago a customer have got a demonstration of a Latex 280 (104") in our showroom. After that he told us that he had a Mimaki 104"-Demo too, will go back to his office, compare the prints and will give a feedback.
I was shure that we won't get the order because I thought that we can't...
Using sheets for digital printing can be a problem because of dust and finger prints. I know no-one printing on sheets on any roll printer.
Is completely simple. It have a media feeder, it checks for skew and do feed adjustment itself. With the Latex 280/104", I have loaded Canvas Rolls...
