  1. X5 with CoCut Pro

It may be something as simple as a plug-in that I don't realize or didn't see that I need. The installation mentions the use of Visual Basic, but according to my install it's there (in X5). If you learn of anything before I hear back from either the Cocut group or Summa, that would be great Jim...
  2. X5 with CoCut Pro

Nope, actually they don't. There seems to be little support for the newest versions - I'm not the only one having issues it seems and there are no answers in the support base!
  3. X5 with CoCut Pro

Thanks Jim. I just emailed a support ticket with the description to them. Hopefully someone can shed some light on this - I don't want to be designing in X5 and back-saving the file to v10!
  4. X5 with CoCut Pro

Anyone having any issues with CCPro identifying X5 in the MultiSkin flyout? I've reloaded Pro and the Skin modules (after removing them from the system and restarting) twice now and still nothing. If I open my Corel 10 Pro will identify that, but it just won't identify X5. Summa support at the...
  5. How long after painting can vinyl be applied?

That's assuming he's using urethanes for painting. Not enough info here - what type of paint? If it is urethane, then yes, 72 hours is a good minimum, though I've lettered in far less time (and let the client know that's not recommended). If it isn't a urethane but possibly an epoxy...
  6. what do you pay for electricity?

PECO's already been sliding their rates up, Gino. Haven't you seen the slow increase this past year? Of course, when the cap comes off in January, all bets are off. The local paper had an article today with a quote from the energy rep saying it will only be about 5%.... yeah, right!
  7. New Problem, Double Cuts

You've got a double path somehow. Go into node edit and see if you can pick a node away from one of the images. If there is a node path under it, you have your answer.
  8. Cheesy Franchise?

SBT are well known here. Typical francise stuff, vinyl and print in house while everything else is subbed. Quality varies by owner, just like a Sign-a-Rama and FastSigns.
  9. this sign just glows.

Yes... that's a pretty basic sign lit by neon. Understandably it's to show what you offer, but still... anyone with a router and some LED's can do that.
  10. Tamper evident vinyl?

Hmm... I suppose that's the purpose of having it thermally printed. I do like your suggestion though, Mike!
  11. Tamper evident vinyl?

I think I saw that in my searching, there is thermal printable, but I can't find anything digital. Must be something with the way the product is made.
  12. Tamper evident vinyl?

I know it's out there in the form of ready-made labels and such, but is there stuff available for our large format digital printers? I have a customer that's looking for something larger than a label, but tamper-resistant/evident. Rick
  13. Police car graphics for personal use?

Dealing with many municipalities around here, I know what the short answer would be: only for show purposes. While he might be able to take it on the street, he would probably be hassled if it were a daily driver and face the 'impersonating a police official' penalty. Doesn't matter if you have...
  14. A great way to start the week off bad

That does suck, especially since you were home. Start looking on Craigslist for the cheap coro signs and go see the guy to pick up your "order"...
  15. breaking bits?

Yep, not enough info. What type of CNC? Router or spindle? and what wrapsx3 asked...
  16. Anyone parting out a Falcon Outdoor?

Did you call CMYK parts? He's always seems to have stuff available for parts, even stuff not listed on his site.
  17. Curious About This Finish

Looks like LuminOre to me, too. He does say it's a metal finish that he rubs and polishes to obtain the final look.
  18. Shopbot PRT standard Zeroing

Are you using a spindle or a router? It's a real off chance that if you have a spindle it could be sending a high frequency spike back through the motors and screwing with the signal from the processer... but that's real rare.
  19. What kind of vinyl is right for me?

I admire your post. I fear that you'll be dumped on by some of the regulars for such a basic question that really you ought to know the answer to even before you start. That said, each film is going to react differently. You won't need a laminate if you're not printing - regular vinyl is meant...
  20. Quite simply the best

    Awesome work!
