sounds like an improperly stored printer. there could be clogs everywhere. you need a comprehensive cleanup of the lines. and possible replacement of heads/dampers/capping stations. i would suggest getting a really good tech, and request for a comprehensive cleanup. there are some great third...

  4. New hard drive for laptop

they are pretty much screwing you. i'm no expert on Windows oem licenses. but i think it's pretty safe to say that it is ludicrous that upon having your hard disk crash, you are then required by toshiba to buy a new windows license along with the new hard disk. well, of course, this is...
  5. Strange one.....

ok. since your 100% CMYK color bars came out better than your usual print. i have 2 possible culprits in mind. both have to do with oversaturating your media or ink not being able to dry. (1) if it was oversaturation, the formulation of your ink might have changed. or it might just be a bad...
  6. Trend Micro????

nope. it doesn't really matter what your email client is. your email client only gets involved when your pc is the one infected and is mass mailing everybody on your outlook contact list. btw, i just remembered what i usually do in these situations. i open up notepad first, and open the...
  7. Trend Micro????

it seems that this might be a legit email. if your email provider/server has a built in trend antivirus service, i would assume that somebody with an infected pc/account sent you an email. once your are sure that it is indeed a txt file... and not just something with a ".txt" somewhere in...
  8. Strange one.....

how does the mist pad contribute to overspray? i used to think that overspray was usually a symptom of the head going bad. [assuming the ink is good] for the OP, since you said that it prints well with your hard solvent printer, could you try to print another color like magenta or black -...

  11. Mimaki leaving ink before and after print

you know that feeling when you run your nails across the blackboard? well, that's what i felt inside when you just stood by and let your head strike your media like that. pls completely read your manual on how to take use your printer. you can start with how to properly load your...
  12. Help! Printer stops....while "Printing"??!!

since your problem is intermittent, i would have guessed either a physical connection problem, or a routing problem. routing problems that were mentioned by the other members rarely [but do] happen, and is usually fixed by cycling a reboot of all connected appliances. now, given that you've...

so, what was the problem? :)
  18. Roland SC 540 printing crazy

cable goes from your head to carriage board. and another cable is connected from your carriage board to your head board. you will have to open the back panel for that last part. if you haven't done it before, i suggest you get a tech in first, or at least a service manual if you are comfortable...
  19. Roland SC 540 printing crazy

that looks like an electrical problem now. check the cable starting from the head board towards the problematic head. if you keep that up, you will either blow a fuse or blow your components in your head board. kelly
  20. Sir, Why do you charge for your services?

well said. i also repair computers as a hobby. [25 years experience/reading books] that being said, i still find it very difficult to know the right amount to charge... say, for a 5-10 min span of time that i spend troubleshooting and finding a solution for something most technicians were...
