you could have messed up your linear encoder when you installed it. take a flashlight and see if there's dust/lint/ink/marks on any part of it. i have a feeling it's somewhere in that 21" mark you mentioned. kelly

there is always an underlying reason why the machine produces a poor output. just relax, step back a bit, and troubleshoot it step by step. if you have the right parts, and tools for the job, you will eventually figure it out. kelly

your alignments are off. your pdf file clearly shows that your alignment settings are off on a significant majority of the settings. as it is, you might just want to look at your magnified scans and base your settings off there. correcting your alignment settings should fix your problem of...

looks like your heads are fine. a slight deflection here and there. but nothing that would cause the symptoms of your problem. your cyan look like it's off alignment. in dsc_0021, they are supposed to be aligned with the black baseline. we obviously can't see your other alignment settings...

yep! if it was really a power surge... there is a good chance that it hit your mimaki's communication controller as well. last year, i had an electrical surge caused by a nearby lightning strike. the surge traveled from my dsl line to my modem, to my router, to my pc and to my roland's...
