  1. Anyone use RIP software other than Versawerks?

flexi works great with my SC-540. but yes, like what the others said - it sounds like a data problem to me. happened to me before. i fixed it by just cleaning my cables and reseated them properly. problem went away. kelly
  2. Scrolled out 5 feet before cut

lolz. yes. your image tiled. :) make sure that the image you are printing/cutting is smaller than the width of your media. kelly
  3. Worst Tech Support Ever!!!

while i don't blame you for being so frustrated, here are some insights about your problem... assuming no other factor has changed. your software [wasatch] should work exactly the same way since the day you got it. if ever anything goes wrong with a software, the worst case scenario fix is...
  4. Head strikes on Zorbix 10oz with 1204

if it's just banners, and your prints look fine, set your head height up to the highest setting. you would usually lower it when you're printing higher resolution prints or during calibration on stickers. kelly
  5. Tool to snap off knife blade in the U.K?

my blades don't seem to want to snap at the indented places. most of the time, even after using pliers, i get this random angle on the end blade. i'm pretty sure that not having the usual angle on the end affects the performance of the cutter. kelly

  10. Help Needed, New Heads Going Bad

that black head looks like the time i ran mine through an ultrasonic machine. actually, it also happened when i pushed too hard with my cleaning solution as well. in other words, in those cases i think the membranes inside the head were messed up by the pressure. edit: it could also be that i...
  11. I think I killed my head

i bet you didn't rinse your head in isop alcohol and allow it to dry out overnight... i killed my head / fuse this way. a short in any of the head circuitry popped your cyan / black head fuse. that is why both are totally out. your heads might still be fine depending on whether or not the...
  12. CJV30 100, single pass

first of all, are you sure your material was designed for solvent printing? nonetheless, if you really wanted to make it work, you have to either get the profile for your material, or make one. profiling, among other things, will set the maximum amount of ink you media can handle, as well as...

  16. Only prints "clean" in high speeds HELP PLZ

could it possibly be a bad batch of ink? it does happen. kelly
  17. Not a poll, but a chime in. Ultra Sonic machine head cleaning/cleaners

i have tried ultrasonic cleaning for my dx4 heads using your typical jewelry cleaners. and frankly, they all failed miserably. soaking hasn't been much help for me as well. it seems that my third party inks likes to stick to the insides of my head causing deflections. and when that happens, i...
  18. Printing problems for Newbie to solvent.

if that is a head strike. you will notice that your media buldges up in that particular part. thus, causing some part of the carriage [possibly the head] to hit your media. kelly
  19. Interior Mural

sigh. i am green with envy. i can never produce that much art even if my life depended on it. the main reason i got into digital printing was that i wanted to at least appreciate good art when it comes around. :) great work, jill! :D kelly
  20. Heat setting?

i usually maintain my heat at my usual settings. no point messing around with the settings unless you can afford to make a mistake. different medias obviously have different tolerances. then i just point a fan at the bottom to make sure that it's perfectly dry by the time it reaches the take-up...
