  1. Summa S2T 140 consistently poor print/cut

that is exactly what i am experiencing. but with me, it's very repeatable. knowing that i bought a great product, and it's just not working for me, is incredibly frustrating. kelly
  2. Summa S2T 140 consistently poor print/cut

hi all! i bought a new summa S2T 140 a few months back, and have only recently tried its print/cut feature using Opos X/ Opos XY. I have only heard of rave reviews so far for Summa, so i am at a loss why i am experiencing accuracy issues with it. Description of the problem: four corners and...
  3. HP Latex 570 vs Roland EJ

hi! i just recently bought the Summa S2 T140. it was supposed to partner with my HP latex 310 and roland SC-540 for print and cuts. but i have been getting consistently unprecise cuts at the middle parts [w/ or w/o oposXY. i don't want to steal this thread, but if you are experiencing a...
  4. Over spray look in my prints

it seems like your light cyan is the culprit. probably an electrical problem. look how uneven the whole test print looks. chances are, you will need to replace it.
  5. Latex 360 color consistency is not there

hi dypinc! I have an L310, and while it doesn't have the ability to produce profiles, it does have the capability to linearize. All my neutrals went down the drain a few months back, and i was able to restore things to normal by producing my own profile using an old media profile, linearize...
  6. looking for a new plotter to do perf cutting, suggestions?

your reply was everything i needed to hear. relevant, and direct to the point. for this price range, i don't see any reason why i shouldn't go with the summa S2-T series. thanks! i really do appreciate the quick response. kelly
  7. looking for a new plotter to do perf cutting, suggestions?

hi phil! i plan on getting a 54" cutter soon. i was considering either the summa S2 T140, or Graphtec FC-8600. based on the forum comments, i would love to get the summa. but i am concerned that summa cutter contacts the cutting strip directly during perf/flex cut, while the graphtec has a...
  8. Head problem on sp300

well, it is quite possible that expired ink could potentially damage the print head. as for unclogging print heads, people here usually recommend head soaks, and pulling ink through the heads. but personally, what i do, is figure out what is causing the head issue first. [that is why you need...
  9. Head problem on sp300

assuming that your capping station is capping properly, those deflections almost always would mean that your ink is destroying your head. that is a classic case of what happens when you use unoptimized third party inks. [yes, i am on third party inks] what i would recommend is that you contact...
  10. Head problem on sp300

your capping station might not be capping properly. but given that your cyan seems to look ok, my bet is on your black ink messing up your head. are you using original inks? kelly
  11. SP-540V Banding - Help pls

this is one of the most basic features for large format printers. it basically indicates how many times the head goes through each part of your design. depending on the printer, there should be a default set of passes that your printer is programmed with. this is usually integrated into the...
  12. Graphtec CE6000-120 or FC8600-130

the sales agent i talked to also recommended the CE since i rarely work with reflective media. but i really needed a confirmation from users just to be sure. but how about registration mark/cut accuracy and tracking? does this mean that they pretty much perform relatively the same? thanks...
  13. Graphtec CE6000-120 or FC8600-130

hi all! i'm currently looking at these 2 models for my contour cut jobs, and i need input from those experienced users on which is more applicable for my needs. [the FC is 2x the price of the CE around here] from what i've read, summa is the best one in the market, but it appears that we don't...
  14. MAJOR Magenta overspray no matter what color I print.

that is not overspray. that is a result of a grounded/shorted connection on/to the head. turn your printer off immediately. double check your cable connections. if you're lucky, it's just a matter of reseating your cables. kelly
  15. xR640 more issues

did they ever figure out what the problem was?
  16. $12 an hour doing what he loves

  17. Roland SC540 Print problem

check if the inkset settings in your SC-540 menu is correct. after that. check if it is also correct in your rip. since it appears that all your heads are firing correctly, i will put my money on this issue being a configuration problem. kelly
  18. Always getting jealous of other decals!

the stickers i produce using my eco solvent roland are ok. but i have seen stickers for high end car enthusiast parts, and i can only imagine how they are made. the stickers are incredibly thick, usually embossed, with metallics, and in some cases even has a top 2-3mm layer of what looks like...
  19. Roland Colour Nightmare

if this happened to me, and i suspect ink starvation, i would first print CMYK bars [8"-10" thick at least throughout the width of the printer] and set them aside. i will then start printing. those 2 sets of prints will be my baseline. now, when a color shift occurs, i will then re-print my...
  20. Roland sp540v yellow lines randomly.

this happens to me once in a while. in my case, it looks like an intermittent ground in your yellow data cable. my machine will print out something like what you're having now, and might then escalate into a full blown grounded head print. this means that all nozzles of that particular head...
