We have a template too. We get down payments before we do any sketches, but we also water mark our designs and use disclaimers. Then I email bitmaps or print them off if they are in our shop.
I change the side bar color to match the color of sign, just as a nice added touch. So if it were...
You know what I hate about all of them. Unless the art is pretty simple, they don't communicate with each other very well. Corel has a hard time opening some files created in illustrator, and Illustrator has a hard time opening some files created in Corel. (replace "corel" and "illustrator"...
Did you see the thing about the "envelope tool" I wrote? That may help you out with your arc situation.
That is why this is a good thread, It get's us to open up about the things that bother us about our software without turning into a "corel is better than illy" or visa versa topic...
Actually it's up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, b, a, start. :Big Laugh
But I bet if your printer had an "a" "b" and a "start" you would be curious to see what it did, wouldn't you?:Big Laugh
What version of Corel do you have? We upgraded from X3 to X5 without this specific problem. So in Colin's case it is either a conflict between 12 and X5, Or it is some fluke thing or way he created his artwork in 12 and no one can seem to help him figure out what it is. I did quick search on...
Yeah Corel has "add perspective" under "effects" I'm almost positive it IS in 12, which would do exactly what you are talking about, then it also has the envelope tool that isn't true perspective, but does allow you to distort vector shapes and text.
Then, if you use the extrude tool you can...
Yeah there seems to be two different types of backups. The one you speak of that is "backup of whatever" and is saved along side my other files. These are apparently one save behind the normal file. So if I design something and save it as "job1", then make a few more changes and save it...
Never heard of that. There is an auto closed curve command, but I'm guessing if all the vector shapes in all your files are having this issue that may be a time consuming fix. Maybe try saving it in a different file format and opening it in the newer Corel?
Corel makes auto backups, which is great. but if you force corel to close or it crashes and you restart Corel, it will attempt to open all of those autobackups. It asks you if you would like to open them, but they no longer have a specific name. Instead it's "Graphic 1" "Graphic 2", etc.. I...
My brother who maintains our Roland just calls our Roland tech and they told us at one point. We wrote it down somewhere but I can't seem to find it. If I do, I will PM you. In the meantime, you may want to check with who you bought the machine from. They may or may not tell you over the...
A lot of sign artists I have talked to seem to have a tipping point as to how bad they will actually let a design become before they tell the customer: "I am not interested in doing this work". But what you have to realize is the way we are setup, we always get money up front, so It's difficult...
I think someone may have mentioned this, but you may need another set of hands or more for this work. Especially considering that you are new to this type of work. Do you have employees or help?
There is, and as you are probably aware by now (as evidence by this thread), it has it's own set of...
