  1. Need opinion on font modification

I didn't like it at first but it kind of grew on me. What bugs me is the tail of the k. I'd try to make a downward swash for that with an echoing upward swash on the right v arm. I'd probably not diddle with the connectors and try the above suggestion. Love....Jill
  2. Gerber 4B

After painting signs for 12 years I bought a used 4B in 1998, with an LMK module and a PC/Graphix Advantage for $15K. When that 4B needed a $2500 repair I snagged a 4E off a local gal for $400. I used that until 2 years ago (designing in GA and later, Corel) Tony Q's kid is looking to buy fonts...
  3. Chiroprator Sign Layout

  4. gold vinyl

Oracal's metallic ultraleaf cast isn't too bad. It has a hokey looking holographic sheen but it's easier to work with than SignGold and is listed as 5 yr vinyl. Of course, absolutely nothing is as good as the real thing. Love....jill
  5. way to high?

I think I'd be at least $500 on that. Make sure you smoothly kern/connect/weld that script. Love....Jill
  6. Wet install tequnices / application fluid reconendations please

I don't use a wet app with clear tape, which is probably why I never use clear tape. :)
  7. Best font for directional signs?

For "real" signs (like on the highway) I use Blue Highway. For parking lot signs I typically use Impact or Arroyo, unless it's a more high-end parking lot. I also use Chesham Sans wayyy too much but it's such a clear, clean looking alphabet. Love....Jill
  8. Wet install tequnices / application fluid reconendations please

I only use Rapid Tac. Spray both the surface and the sticky back of the vinyl. Apply, squeegee well. Then spray the app tape with the Rapid Tac, and peel that back after only a minute or so. Spritz the decal again and squeegee it to remove any leftover RT. For windows I usually go dry but if...
  9. Hoping this is clipart!

There's enough remaining that I could fudge it in with paint. Outline it with a Sharpie and guesstimate the details. A slap of block out white and the Sharpie should bleed through enough so it's like coloring in a coloring book. Love....Jill
  10. "The DJ Corner"

Here's a layout for a small coro poster I did for a local guy (using clip art) That's all I got. Of course, if you're doing a logo, you shouldn't use clip art but something you drew up yourself.
  11. 400 to high???

To me, that doesn't matter. I don't sell signs by the pound but by their advertising power. How much would the guy merrily dump into a one year Yellow pages ad or similar? A lettered van works for him 24/7/365.
  12. Painted Ranch Sign

:) Thanks. Pro, only if you will set me up so I can just do designs and never deal with real people again. I make one hell of a pumpkin pie, too.
  13. Nail Spa Sign

Thanks for listening. I think it looks a lot better, but you still need to diddle with U R G's spacing. Maybe a black outline on Nail Spa? But that may make it too ballsy.
  14. Electsion Signs

I was hoping Edna would being Norm out of the woodwork so to speak. How have you been, O Hairy Armed One? Love....Jill
  15. "The DJ Corner"

You gotta show me yours first. Love....Jill
  16. 400 to high???

    Like Craig...$400 a side maybe. Love....Jill
  17. Painted Ranch Sign

I have been having fun painting signs this week in between working my "real" job. This is another one I did last night/tonight using Steve C's Old Glory.
  18. Painted Ranch Sign

No, Moze, you are right. Good call. Thankfully I sent this pic to the dude and he told me about the nose. I was working off a photo he emailed me. Fixed him tonight.
  19. Nail Spa Sign

Make the bars on the top and bottom black, with white lettering maybe? Nail Spa in white, fix the kerning on the S (move it a bit to the left and remove the connector from the side of of the p) and make Nail and Spa closer together. Kerning on Strasburg is a bit wonky also. Love....Jill
  20. Painted Ranch Sign

Here's one I've been working on in between times. 30"x40" all hand painted with Ronan lettering enamels. Love....Jill
