  1. Micro Business Looking to Expand into Print

I've had good luck with avery 2611, it's a vinyl wall film as opposed to a fabric like phototex, but it works great and contour cuts MUCH better than phototex
  2. Micro Business Looking to Expand into Print

I would recommend you try subbing out the production to a wholesale printer first, if after 6 months you feel you would make enough money to warrant buying your own printer and the headaches that come with it, you can do so. No point jumping in with both feet first.

Do you know how long of a working time you have with the #4 before it sets? We normally use acryweld, but it has a working time of about 3 seconds, which is a major PITA
  5. Digitally printed t-shirt transfers...and a supplier for them.

I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one, Like I said, I've got shirts we printed 2-3 years ago that are holding up just fine, I've had screen printed shirts crack and fall apart after a year.

  11. adhesive for letters

Hey all: I'm making a sign for a client, pretty simple, MDO backboard, painted with latex paints, I cut some letters out of 1/4" acrylic, which I want to mount on standoffs to the board. I cut little 0.5" dia. circles out of 3/8" thick acrylic to use as my standoffs, these will be fastened to...
  12. Digitally printed t-shirt transfers...and a supplier for them.

I have some work shirts I printed about 3 years ago on heat transfer, the shirt is starting to look a bit ratty, but the print looks fine. I don't turn mine inside out to wash or dry either.

Yeah if I walked into a car dealer and they had that on display, I would feel like a number too! That aside, good job
  14. Screw you 3M.

I didn't see a straight answer to any of the concerns in this thread on that entire page, it looks like it was written by a politician. :frustrated::iamwithstupid
  15. Screw you 3M.

I Asked this question a few pages ago, but no one has answered it so far, What are you going to do if a client specifies 3M media be used on their wrap jobs? As I understand it, most fleet work specifically specs 3M media.
  16. Van stripes - Ballpark?

Sounds a tad high, but not unreasonable at all
  17. customer wants to buy my files i designed.... how much(ballpark)?

I would be straight with him, tell him that you are not going to just give him the files you created so he can get them printed somewhere else, if he wants them he will have to pay for you to release them. Only you can know what to charge, there are far too many variables to consider for us to...
  18. .012" aluminum signs

We quoted on producing and installing a bunch of standard parking signs for a school once, quoted the job on 0.080" aluminum, reflective as per the spec, we lost the job to a lowballer, went back a few months later, they used 0.020" thick trophy plate aluminum, every one of the signs were bent...
  19. Screw you 3M.

Wow! I've never wrapped anything more than box trucks and trailers, but a few months ago I took the Avery wrap course with Justin Pate and I can tell you that the cargo van they had us wrap looked 100x better than this, and at least 75% of us had never wrapped anything with a curve!
