one thing you could do to help the lam are is keep a air hose close by and blow the sheets off when laminating.
we ran line through out the ceillings and dropped air hoses in the areas we need them
by the laminators, silk screen areas helps out a lot and not real expensive
but the bottom line...
when you first look at it and don't know what the product is you don't know what to think but now that i know i don't it's too far off it kind of has the pastel or mixed shades of sorbet or gelato
i would agree you have to charge based on the dificulty of the wrap
i did a job on some smart cars just a 9" stripe around it with some other cut lettering but the stripe around the front fenders and grill/nose took about 3 hours it was nuts

i would say you are probably better to match the same company materials (3m vin w/ 3mlam and so on ) but i have found as long as you use the same quality cast with cast and calandered with calandered you are usually ok. i have used avery lam with oracal vinyl and no problems but back to not...
i have a good back lit that we use but like pat said the ink coverage is heavy so it is really best to lam or it scratches real easy but you can use it how ever works for you
