we have used merritt a bunch of times with great results
but if you do try to do it yourself i would think the seam should hold up ok since it is indoors
+1
usually the cleaning will clear that up, if the auto cleaning doesn't work try the manual. sometimes dust or fuzz can get on or around the print head area and cause that
running a job on the roland, small decal and versa works only allows me to print 250 in the step and repeat any one ever have that or know how to change it (i guess it's a default setting?)
i did get around it by doing the step and repeat in illust. then importing to versa works but would like...

keep a keen eye out to make sure he isn't waiting in the parking lot... you know how those crazies are .... although he may have trouble finding you again..haha
we have 2 roland print/cut systems(vp-54 & xc-540) and no complaints here
as far as have a printer and a cutter not a one sytem unit the only time i find that to be a problem is when i do a large run job so it doesn't interfere too much at our shop
the only thing i would say is get a 54" or...
i had a problem with the alum/vinyl product the offer.
the sign i did was a post and panel sign and it was ok on the alum side but the pvc side started to peel forutnately it was the back and nothing was on it. i was able to just take a piece of .040 alum i had around the shop and zip screw it...
it depends on the artwork and where it is being used if it's out side viewed from a distance i always use high speed but sometimes with indoor banners that will be viewed up close and the artwork is very detailed i will use the standard setting (not a huge difference but sometimes noticable)
i did some stuff for a friend who is involved with bands and we made decals for the bass drum out of the fat head type material (oracal 3628) and they cut the hole for the microphone with an exacto you just have to make sure you wipe down the drum head with some alcohol first to clean it off
started on mac 21 years ago and then we switched to pc because of the cost and now we have both, not sure i find one any better then the other for what i do here.
photo shop and illust are the same in both and my rolands work the same with both
we have silk screened business cards on .010 and .020 polycarbonate either textured or gloss in the past ( i recomend the tectured because the gloss scratches real easy)
but we can only do spot colors no 4 color process
we generally charge $50-75 prep/set up for jobs (mostly this is on the silk screened and hot stamped jobs not so much on the digital stuff)
but if the customer wants artwork he can use somewhere else and we are creating from scratch we will charge $200-250 (if it is a good or repeat customer we...

i have a customer/friend who is opening a new store and needs signage on the building and one of the signs will be a light box/backlit sign for the front of the building
there is no existing box so i would be starting from the ground up
(there was some neon letters that he is going to remove )...
we have done this before, usually just for the athletic assoc that i am involved with but i will give them a pricing structure before they get the sponsers then they set up what they want for a donation to cover the sign and money for the sport
